Hi Petr
You did a great job with a very nice result after 3,5 year working :thup2:. I see this carrier on the photo's during a event at Belgium but i have not see or speak with the owner of this carrier. Seems it looks the same likes your carrier? Cheers Marcel Attachment 91403 Attachment 91404 Attachment 91405 |
Just beautiful!! :salute:
|
Thanks guys :)
Marcel I noticed this carrier on youtube as advertisment of some company making stencils and markings. Have no contact to the owner though. Would be nice to get in touch with them, its same type as mine. |

Enjoy
Petr,
A quality restoration. Great to see you 'enjoying the fruits of your labour' and sharing it with others. Peter |
Thanks Peter!
We had some engine issues, mostly connected with the carb but now is engine performing much more better. Also did some steering tuning, static and dynamic :) https://youtu.be/e8H_5ApVWtw |

Started to grind out the welded grips on my tracks. They are very good for winter rallying in Sweden, but unfortunately not compatible with the paved roads over here :yappy:

Great restoration mate, love it. I'm so jealous.
I've just spent the weekend with a friend's at a show and now I NEED to get mine done! How is the engine with new radiator and fan?? |
Thanks Paul, sooner or later you will ride your own! :)
We have had overheating issues with running without the thermostats, now with thermostats its much more better. Wise guys told something about need of restricting the water flow. Temp is holding around 190°, but needs more tests under load. Still at the beginning... |

Ugly job, but one side is almost done...

I put today in my Zenith-Stromberg 97 adjustable main jets and its really nice thing. Work with the standard jets could a pain in the a**, so I recommend this. Very good for proper adjustment, especially if you have non-standard carb.

I have got nice new genuine towing rope for my carrier.
Also tested the garage gate opening with partial success :) |
Nice to make your carrier more complete with this kind of parts.
Next project will be the garage gate so you can mount at the future some steps and mud skirds at the left and right side. You did a great job Petr, nice to follow the restoration of you carrier. Cheers Marcel |
Thanks, Marcel, the gate is wide enough, but I had to get out without the navigator, which wasn't apparently very clever idea :yappy:
And also my driving skills are a bit limited :yappy: |

We have run the first mile(s) with Drsnak this weekend, mostly dedicated to the "power pack" settings. Engine is performing well, but still have some overheating issues. Cooling will need a bit tuning :)
Will post short video later. |
Nice pictures Petr, your hard work on this project paid off. Looking forward to take a ride

Interesting gear change gate. Is that original, Petr?
|
Yes, it is, Lynn.

Hi Petr, Can you do a good picture of the gear change gate please?

Lynn, is it any good?
|
Yes, that's good Petr. as I said, never seen one like it before. The simplified gate might allow a bit more tolerance in the linkage?
Is this a Brit only thing or did the Canadians do this too in late production? |

My 1944 Canadian has the full gate. Ron
|
Thanks Petr and Ron. So it looks to be British. I wonder now about production dates and T numbers.
