Looks like the engine needs more than a couple of cans of "Start ya bastard!"

It suprised me too a bit though when he gave it a couple of squirts with the start ya bastard (as pictured) turned her over and fired within a couple of turns .Ran reasonably well . He sold it to a collector a couple of months back but not yet collected for the princely sum of $500 .full set of original wheels on the tray area and a few other bits over in the grass
The original canvas door frames had sheets of gal bent on to them and had the curtain frames there as well

You are getting close to Coonabarabran when I start to see you post pictures of trucks I know! Used to drive that old green Blitz as a kid during wheat harvest.

aj.lec 22-04-10 11:11

Too right :D
Much closer and you could throw rocks at them over your back fence :salute:

Todays find
Definately different at least
Cab 12 F15 with handmade bodywork
Apparently by a company in Australia just after WW2
apparently there is another the same somewhere on NSW south coast
Does anyone have any further information or details on these vehicles ?

Keith Webb 28-04-10 10:46

Similar

Sort of has similar lines to the S1 Scout Car doesn't it and is on the F15 chassis, but the differences are too great in other ways.

aj.lec 28-04-10 10:58

Definately nothing resembling factory built
Handmade from bits the guess
Ugly as a hatfull :ergh:
Built on wooden framework
They even removed the cab 12 arches
Cab 13 dash
Different fuel tanks
Added about a foot of wooden floor past the rear of the floor plates with a bench seat over it .probably not a bad idea for at least a bit of legroom

Chev ute

Andrew,
That Chev ute is a 1940 model and could well be ex-Army. Seems to have green paint as well under the other colours. It would make a great MV rally vehicle.
Regards Rick

Max Hedges 28-04-10 22:47

Andrew it looks like they crossed a F15 with a guy ant
Max

Mike K 29-04-10 03:21

Todays spot
Federal

lynx42 29-04-10 10:06

Mmmm... D series International late 30's I guess.

aj.lec 29-04-10 10:09

After a bit of research on the net Guessing around 1949 Federal model 28a with JXLD Hercules 120 hp engine
Know very little about them to say for sure though

lynx42 29-04-10 10:35

Andrew, I agree. I thought Federal first but was swung by the hubcaps. That model Federal had a Hercules JXC engine.

Not an International but about a 1949 Federal as Andrew thought. Flat faced cowl with added cab. Nice find Andrew :thup2:

Keith Webb 25-06-10 09:44

Looks like...

Looks like one of the old ADS sprayers which were mostly on F60S late production chassis.
Howard, don't get any ideas about putting this Clevo in your F15!
