Has been a long day  The 15a was up near the shed Funny thing i had been on that property before and i didnt see this one Didnt get the chassis number Instrument cluster surround had no data plates Had supply number of 8442 -1942 ? under bonnet Appears to be a late front clip Engine number appears to be PR511595 ? |
Interesting
The under bonnet number is for the chassis type which should be 8421 which is for a C15 - perhaps the bonnet or front shell has been replaced. 8442 is the C60S.

Andrew,
Having a problem ID 'ing Chevs? The sedan is a 1940 ridemaster. This one is the same as mine. Check under the bonnet on the firewall for the AIF/AMF rego number. Also the ID plates might have Khaki Green for an original colour. The vertical taillights make it a 1940 Chev as they had horizontal in 1941-2. The T banger is also a Chev of about 1924 or 1925 vintage. Depends whether it has a single or twin port exhaust outlet. What about the Chev Blitz dogbox in the back of the old Chev. Keep them coming, it's amazing what is still out there. Regards Rick. |

Owner said it was a T .Not up on a lot of early cars There was no markings under the bonnet of the ridemaster that i could see Dogbox is now in my backyard |
That Republic chassis has been there for a while. Check out the tree behind the front axle.
The canopy bows are for a lend-lease Chev I think. I recovered some the same being used as a chook house as well. Now does the Ford Cab12 still have it's dogbox panels? I'm in need of a full set for my F60L Cab12. (I also need a set for the F30S Cab 11 if anyone knows of any out there.) Regards Rick |

The passenger side panel looks to be a replacement at some stage as it has a second layer of numbers underneath starting with 2 The number appears to be 44557 on the drivers side |

Re: Post #364
Hi Andrew,
Do you think the C15 in your post #364 above, was an ex RAAF truck given the colour of the old faded blue? Or Army that has been civil painted? The inscription on the steering wheel may have two owners (on a long shot out of 13 K Sharpe's). Keith Sharpe RAAF Leading Aircraftman 69861 84 Operational Base Unit or Keith Sharpe Australian Army N296370 17 Australian Works Company |
