Sheer Stupidity
Hi all - at the moment $182.50. The highest bidder has absolutely no clue. My maximum price when I can get them is $60.

Whoa.........must be signed by the author himself!
I'm with you Bob.
Learned early on to be patient & lateral thinking with searches & it pays off.....eventually. I only paid $45.00 for the Ford Service Bulletins book/manual. Still can't get the smile of my face :D |
this one was a goodie
bugger I missed it though.
I've never seen one before, An RAAF publications No.456 MB-C2 manual. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/220830933...84.m1435.l2649 |
Pictorial history of ford Australia
This is a good book, I have a copy in my library. Has a chapter on WW2 and after and includes pics and info on Blitz and carriers etc.

Norm Darwin book
I have a copy somewhere too. I remember there were some problems with titles being swapped around and a CGT being used instead of a Ford.

The value for money of the manuals at the Canadian Register is superb, but they do not include all sections (at least when I downloaded, before acquiring so many originals). For example, they didn't originally scan the sections for the winch. The reason I was given was that the most popular/needed sections had been scanned.

Army crates
Whilst not specifically blitz I thought someone may be interested in these for use as props or more practical purposes.

Thanks Graeme,
The contact is well know in Auzzie Military circles. It is Tim Vibert in Wangarratta. Regards Rick. |

Blitz Dash
Hi all - minimum of $400 to restore with new switches plus $230 to restore the temperature gauge if not working plus the purchase price. Very expensive exercise for those not in the know.

Contact the seller. Tell them you only want the instruments or whatever it is you are interested in. If 'buy it now' is acceptable to you, tell them they can keep the rest & relist, give em away or whatever they want to do with them. Ask about a revised postage cost for the greatly reduced weight and bulk of the pod alone. Done this several times with success & struck a fair deal each time. If they are not interested..........well you lost nothing and maybe you will word the email proposal better next time. |
Re. Postage
Hi Tony - well aware of bartering. What I have to watch though is the initial aquisition costs so I can keep costs down to my clients. I just spoke to a guy who had an Internationl KB4 panel restored for $1000. He was a bit pissed off when I told him my costs were between $300-$400. Similarly another guy had a speedometer rebuilt for many hundreds of dollars and it still does not work. My price would have been about $100. And with all my stuff, if it breaks down I fix it for free.
