=Lynn Eades;.............It sounds like you did......Nice nuts.[/QUOTE]

Lynn do you think Boobee wants to touch my nuts :sheep:

Boob ...40 nuts to a box old boy

I have 1 full box left and a few loose ones laying around
Max

Bob Carriere 04-02-10 17:33

This is getting out of hand.....

.....but I would like to apply some brute torque on your nuts Max......

...and speaking of loose nuts lying around..... I know of 3 or four around the Hammond Barn....

On more serious note Max...... the Champion brand name on the box.... is it Canadian or British...?

wonder if we can make a formal Heritage and historical claim for the repatriation of goods manufactured in Canada..... H**l ....they do it for old painting stolen by the German occupation force from former European owners.....

How would a used CNC cost to purchase....hihihi

i took half a wheel over to my friend with the cnc shop today.i'm waiting for a price on 200.they'll be grade 8 equivalent.

should i inquire about having nuts made up too?

So! I had better send this to Presedent O!! NOW we know the truth!

lendlease 05-02-10 10:29

studs and nuts

I think the Champion brand is JAPANESE. Many CMP (blitz) nuts and studs were made in Japan to supply the local market after supples of war surplus had dried up. Also, the DKK brand is JAPANESE. Does this qualify for NOS???

Bob Carriere 05-02-10 17:02

Nuts and studs.....

Duuane

I think there would be a greater demand for the nuts than the studs..... probably 5 or 6 to one...... almost every wheel I have could use 2 or 3 new 7/8 nuts.... one rim in 4 might need a stud replaced

Personally if I could get my hands on a full set of nuts.....40.... I would be set for life........price per unit becomes the big factor....

Howard....consider the work done "under the table" as part of the Billion $$ financial stimulus package...... if they can help the Banks they sure can help us poor CMP collectors....

Lendlease....... personnaly I don't care if they are made in Russia with left over steel from radioactive submarines...as long as quality is good and they fit .....glowing in the dark is a bonus.

Bob... we could do a deal for some nuts
first I had better talk to my manager Keefy :note: to see if the nuts are aloud to leave the country
Max

Keith Webb 06-02-10 02:17

Are nuts allowed to leave the country?

A dollar is a dollar my boy...

Bob Carriere 06-02-10 03:50

Aloud nut......?

How loud are those nuts anyways....?

Will they scream when we tighten them....?

PM me so we can work out the $$ details.... and shipping as it may be cheaper by first class airline seat then by postal freight.

Joining studs for 20" wheels

While I was painting a group of 20" rims I noticed that some had the the mushroom heads that I think are "normal" for the 20" rims but two of them had the flat/recessed heads that I associate with 16" rims. I had understood that the 16" rims needed the flat heads for clearance on the brake drums but that the 20" had gone to the mushroom heads for several reasons. Reasons include that it was simpler to form a straight sided hole in the rim than a taper and doesn't rely on matching tapers, easier to weld, stronger due to flat bearing surfaces and full thickness rim stock. Photos of the two styles attached.

Bob you could have the nuts in Canada in early March as Mathew and his family from Mount Forest are coming down under a week from today.
We are looking forward to seeing them again and I will have to take him for a short blitz trip for old times sake.

Bob's nuts

I've tried to attach the photo of Bob playing with his nuts. If it doesn't show, either I've failed posting 101 or the censors got it. It's been a while since I saw a grown, allegedly sane man playing with his nuts in public.

Max Hedges 24-03-10 11:50

Grant, is Bob actually drooling over his nuts in the photo? We can't quite see if they're polished or not, can you keep an eye on him please.

Max
