...the most interesting is that the cab portion of the C15 resting on the boathull looks a lot like a cab 11 or 12 so is the blue headlamp in the last picture..... and underneath looks like a Dodge w52?.......wonder if it was a Canadian model??

....if only it was not so far...... the shame.

Wonder what the freight charges would be.

..... now to convince the wife to take holidays in Frobisher bay..... that's the challenge!!!!!

CMP Ford F60L in Colorado, USA
 

In April 2002 Russ Morgan sent me pictures of a Ford F60L 3-ton 4x4 CMP truck in Colorado, USA. At the time he did not follow up the lead, as the F60L had a "stuck / frozen" motor and the owner wanted US$3000.

It looks fairly complete and the owner noted it had a tailgate and troop seats. If you are looking for a CMP truck in the USA, this might be a lead to follow up. Who knows if the truck isn't still there? Contact me if you need to get in touch with Russ.

Ford F60H chassis?
 

Excuse ignorance but is that Timken plate off the Ford 6 x 4? If so then it is very interesting as it is a Timken component as used by Marmon-Herringtons. In the early days GM of Canada supplied axles to Ford of Canada and as we all know Sid Swallow used Marmon-Herrington designs for the multi-drive chassis and M-H used Timken axles as did some GM trucks. I have to query whether this proves that the first F60H # 11 cab chassis that debuted around April 1940 were in effect M-H conversions of the Ford F30S/F60S deleting the front-drive axle?

Oh, and just to answer the query about the NAs...Congress narrowly voted in 1940 to allow Cash-and-Carry before Defence Aid and Lend-Lease, under pressure from FDR. However it was touch-and-go as to whether the legislation would pass because of isolationists such as Lindbergh.
