Some CMP's in civilian use , first is a still from a gem of a colour film which features all kinds of 1950s construction plant and lorries building a Rootes showroom garage extension ;-

Hi Mariano, there was a shortage of headlamps as many trucks had one to begin with, others were missing or broken.

As there was hardly any supply of spares (all sent to Argentina to be stored away for deacdes :) ), they just used any available headlamps and made them fit.

Useful fire engine conversion, but it didn’t improve its looks...

Triggered by a C8A-based fire truck coming up for sale again, here are more photos of CMPs converted to fire trucks after WW2.

The coach builder De Jong based in the town of Sleeuwijk converted a number of C8A into this sleek looking fire truck:
