Whoever filmed that was tresspassing when doing so. We know the owner and have some of our own vehicles stored at this location. We have enough problems with people stealing as it is without idiots taking footage and posting it on youtube.

In other news, I always enjoy your threads Colin, excellent work on this vehicle as always. :thup2:

Fab work

Hi Colin..
Out of curiosity, are you a machinist or a tool and die maker..??You certainly do good work and the only guy that I have met with skills like yours ,an absolute wizzard with metal or anything technical at all..gunsmith..watch maker..welder..machinist..and an MLU member and good friend ,Greg Anderson...
Had 200 Acres to play with all his toys..that he rebuilt..painted and restored..by himself..Jeeps..a couple ..old cars..old trucks..
Full machine shop and 6 bay storage garage..loved the tools..
His restorations looked like they just rolled out of the factory..

And what did Greg do for a living...????
Lawyer....amazing...!!!! :note: :drunk:

Alex, no I'm none of the above. The only actual trade I have is a butcher which I did for over 10 years but did structual steel for quite a while as well but this is just self taught stuff.
Also I must say sorry to the Bedford Boys for the youtube comments. Is there no way that you can't get it deleted from there.
Colin.

Hi Colin

I tried to open the site to see what the comment was about and it was no longer accessable. Love following your treads mate, but I enjoyed your bar as much as your workshop.

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY

Cheers

That's because there's a mistake in the link. If you really want to see it you have to remove the first part of the address. It's some still images put to music.

No need for an apology. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. We are trying to find out how to get the video removed.

As you can see I've removed the links from the posts as requested. Perhaps the best thing is to contact the YouTube poster and ask them to remove it.

I think at this point of the project a workshop tour would be in order. A small contingent of MLU admirers to give advice on the build, to peruse through your workshop and toys in general and to just marvel at what we call here in NZ
" the number 8 wire " mentality. Thats what I love about this site, ordinary blokes with extraordinary skills.

Hi everyone, I have had the build direction for the owner sothe fabrication has started. I will be getting the engine going next just to make sure it works.

Oh and I'll let you guy's work out what it will be. I can't say what type of buisiness my client has as that's his private concern. Dave, any one is welcome at my place anytime and you don't have to bring any tools. I've got enough for any visitors and plenty of room.
Colin.

I won't bore you with lots of pics so here's a few.

The last couple of pics in the previous is the original hydraulic pump but I found it was knackered, so I decided to pull it apart and get the centre shaft out and modify it to take a standard piston pump. I needed to use the original shaft because of the spline.

I made up an adapter for a soft start coupling, but made a stronger engine half.

All fitted very well and I just need a couple of hydraulic fittings that I don't have, and It's a go'er.

easo 05-02-12 08:49

G'day Colin, how will you achieve reverse?

Easo

colin jones 05-02-12 09:10

Hi Easo, very simple. The spool valve directs the flow to the hydraulic motor and depending which way you push the control lever it will go in forward or reverse. I will be making it into a rocker foot control, much like a ride on mower.
Colin.
