Yappy

Can I suggest you read a book called "What your Doctor does'nt know about nutritional medicine may be killing you" by Ray D Strand, M.D.
Chris, the kids and I are all doing fine down here in Godzone.
Cheers,
Lynn.

Well I'm here.

It's a bit cold and damp up here in the (better) northern half of the UK where all us poor people have to live (poor = can't afford to fill up an FV 623 fuel tank) :dh: I have to go even further north during the week in the search for work.

Nothing much to report, most of the hardware is tucked up for the winter but I'm making some progress with my rail-adapted Dodge panel van and trailer and spending way too much time on the computer as it's too cold to play in the garage.

I spent several years in Kitsilano, we lived near 15th and Vine, just off Arbutus. My Grand parents lived on 5th ave., near Yew St. You bring back good memories of riding my old bike with "coaster" brakes to the Beach at Kits and all the way to Spanish Banks near Point Grey. Sounds like you made some marathon trips, all the way from 1st and Commercial to Stanley Park and back! and all this with only one speed. Now-a-days you don't see people riding unless their bike has at least 20 gears! Guess we were made of sterner stuff back then!
The Italian community is still thriving in Vancouver, albeit not so concentrated as it was. There's been lots of East Indians moving into what was traditionally Little Italy. I worked with all sorts of Italians....Lenny Bellagamba, Gino Fiducci, Tony Paone...just to name a few. Great guys all! I was always invited to the annual festival held at Our Lady of Sorrows hall. Great food and the wine was fabulous! Very robust and very potent! I remember some great hangovers the day after the festival. They used to put bottles of 7 UP on the tables for the non-Italians to mix with the wine to dilute the potent stuff. Of course, I always drank my wine neat.

Question: What do you get when you cross an Italian with an Octopus?

Answer: I don't know either but you should see that bugger lay bricks!

Anyway, good to see you've got Mr. Spinning-Bull in line. How many wacks upside the head did it take to get him to do the dishes?

Aberdeen or Moray Firth? or are you going to play with my chums at Dounreay ?

Aberdeen, Pete...

That's where the money is. Besides - being able to glow in the dark was never one of my ambitions.

Need to raise money for more Dodge bits and this seems the only way.

Em

Em's ok she got back on her bike yesterday and didn't even fall off this time whilst shifting the sheep.

It's too hot this time of year to wear gumboots as they make your teet stink and when you go to put them on later when it does rain it becomes essential to eradicate all spiders from them before putting them on. We aussies are bred tough as my cousin was bitten by a snake whilst walking through long grass, his hide being so tough that the snake didn't get enough poison in him to affect him too much and only spent the night in hospital for observation, his son was bitten by a red back spider that morning and suffered the effects for several days.

I thought you put gumboots on your feet! :confused I didn't know you'd gone into the dairying business, Max!

Anyhoo we're now back from a wonderful week loafing around the Keiwa Valley in the North of the state. Didn't have much time to go Blitz hunting but still found a F60L, 2 US6 Studes and an interesting barn find - a 1200CC Indian Combination with the Australian nomenclature plate still attached to the front mudguard (fender). Alas it is definitely NOT available.

Hi Lynn,

Thank you for recommending that book. I "Googled" it to find out more, plus did a little more researching ... to me, it's ALWAYS been logical to think about the foods and environmental things we ingest as effecting our bodies and health . Logical to me

Regards what I was reading about the anti-oxidents though (eating more foods and taking supplements that contain antioxidents in order to 'BOOST" the immune system which helps the body fight things off) ... well ... great idea, but my problem with my "autoimmune" disorders, is that of having an OVER-ACTIVE immune system. A system that goes "too far" by attacking healthy cells and body parts over and above any "unhealthy" ones that sent them into attack mode to begin with. My Inner Army is outta control here  :D What I can't handle at this point is for my system to kick into more intensive "attacks against self". Ouch :(

I'll figure something out that helps me and I always check out any and all suggestions people pass my way ;)

No - he has owned it since he was a young man and wants to keep it just as it is. He sure doesn't need the money...
