Keith in the UK..

Interesting find you Keith.

I just checked a GM manual dated January 1941 and they have a C60s listed nothing but C30...... similar Ford manual of January 1942 has mention of F30 but no "s"

If one keeps in mind the 6 months lead time in printing these books the S would have to be really an early designation.... then why would it reappear in 1943????

Strange!!!!!

Earliest seen....

Wow

August 1940 that is very early..... now production did not get in the real swiing of things until Winter 1940..... my cab 11 is around mid May 1940...... and no doubt production went faster than the manuals could be produced.

Now how do we explain a 1940 ID tag on a 42/43 vehicle????
some public servant was asleep at the switch again.....

Any earlier manual in existence somewhere????

Michel,

Yes, the round roof hatch is of original manufacture, but only during 1944-1945 (as far as I know). If your truck is of 1943 the roof plus round hatch must have come off a later vehicle?

Regards,
Hanno

I am not sure of date of the truck, only information on this subject are the plate contructor of bodies LAAT and the number of fondery of the parts in general dated 1943. But French papers official of the truck indicates that the date is unknown
