just trying to find a little history behind the old girl but cannot find any markings of any kind to give me a hint bar -there are stencil marks in the front air grills .on one side has german cross and the other what looks to be an hourglass does anyone know what these may indicate ? |
Good photo
Good photo, graphically displaying the optical superiority of the #12 cab design.
No need to mention ergonomics... |

What I found of interest was that the vent covering was screen and round as used on Chevys while the grill looks to be the woven wire grill as used on Fords. Another case of mix and match parts. Any thoughs. |
Markings on air vents
Hi Guys:
My bet would be- teenager with black felt marker pen who got interrupted before he could complete the iron cross on the other side. I seriously doubt they are military markings. Cheers! Mike |

Cab 13 Chevs
Australian built Chev cab 13s have the chassis number stamped on the vertical face of the left chassis rail usually between the spring hangars.
Here's an example stamped above a hangar: http://www.oldcmp.net/Images/Chevs/C...844400312s.jpg Source |

Looks good
Any data plate, chassis number, ARN?
Looks like it has a winch, but those wheels point to an ex-tipper. Many of our ex- mid wheelbase Chevs were tippers, CGT No6 or ambulances. |
