the sun must have got to old Jiffy a bit, I could hear this rrrrrrrmmmm rrrrrrrrmmmmm noise comming from behind the shed so I went to have a look and found Jiff sitting in this old ford, I think he thought he was going to go and round up some sheep for drenching.

2008 MLU Calendar design

Guys I am just about finished my own calendar designs and if you still all want me to do a MLU calendar I will need all your help over the next month.

If you have any photos you think should be in the calendar email them to me at chut2595 AT bigpond.net.au Mark the subject area as 'MLU Calendar'.

I need high res photos sized at 1000 wide (or there abouts) so just one per email please for quicker downloads.

Once I have a range of photos I will sort out 12 plus one for a cover picture and post them here for you all to have a say on them before designing and printing the calender.

Calendar will be A4 landscape format.

Here is the cover of a 'Blitz Wreck' calendar I have done as part of my line up.

Januarys' photo is an 11 cab then the rest alternately are of 12 cabs and then 13 cabs.

NOBODY INTERESTED?

hmmm seems only Max in Yass is interested in this project as he is the only one to send me any photos. :bang:

So if you do want this MLU calendar to go ahead send me your pics shortly please :teach:

And remember high res Jpeg images at about 1000 pixils wide if possible :D

cliff 20-05-07 10:50

sample page

1 Attachment(s)
here is a sample of what I hope most of the calendar will look.

This is 3 photos of his truck that David Ellery sent me. I will add a caption as soon as David sends me the information on his truck like year/model/type etc. This is A4 landscape size and will have an A4 size landscape calendar page under it.

Other photos will be one photo covering an A4 page. It does not have to be of a vehicle but this will add interest.

ALL PROFITS FROM THE CALENDAR WILL BE GIVEN TO JIF FOR THE SITE! so I will recover only the cost of printing it.

At present I am hoping to sell the calendar for $10 AUD plus post & packaging (the envelope used to post it) but this is a guide only and price will be advised when I am more certain of costs. My costs remain the same whether 1 calendar or 100 calendars are printed.

Rock and Roll :smoker:  ... I LOVE the cover as totally appropriate and great "atty-tude-look" as well from Master Sunray MLU his-self!!! :D Looks like he's thinking "Well, what are you waiting for? Get in the bejeezuz vehicle and let's get this trip on the road, eh Mate"

A keeper Master Cliff!

Vets Dottir 2nd 20-05-07 12:29

... and on a more serious-side note, I think it's really great that you're doing this in support of MLU, Cliff. Awesome MLU-ers, all of you folks who are active in keeping MLU happening.

The Calendar idea is a great one that I think a lot of people will really enjoy seeing hanging on their walls as a little bit of MLU community history.

Hi Cliff

I will send you some pix from my collection later this evening. Do you prefer Aussie CMPs or also from the European "Battlefield"?

Thanks Chris. Any CMP pics are welcome as I am hopeing to make it a world wide type calendar rather then any one country. I am very short of restored 13 cab photos for it.

zemsi 21-05-07 11:08

Yep like that but high res as I need to blow these pics up to A4 size in some cases and I want to make the calendar good quality as well.

Be nicer still if they were members vehicles but beggars can't be choosers :D

Thanks :salute:

... no worries, I've got some of them up to 8 megapixels. Just sent you this one with 3 MP. Should be plenty enough for the calendar.

cliff 22-05-07 00:35

Thanks for the photos Chris. Some bounced back to you when you overflowed my mailbox but I have used those that I want to do two pages.

cliff 25-05-07 01:28

Folk I still have two pages (November and December) to do and I do not have the photos for them. I have to have these proof printed with my own calendars on Monday 28 May, if possible, so it leaves 3 days.

Please send me your pics for these last two pages. I really would like one of these pages to be another bren gun carrier.

My thanks to those who have sent photos for the MLU Calendar. :)

Cliff when I get 5 minutes to myself this weekend I will send you one from Ganmain. Say tuned...

cliff 30-05-07 21:50

OK guys I had to hold this one back for a while and get my own away to be sorted so there is still time for some more pics to be sent.

Restored or good condition members vehicles (including carriers) please with year/model/type and owners name included in the email. I have more then enough photos of wrecks :)

thanks to Keith Orpin for a nice photo of his 13 cab 1942 C30LAAT

OK Cliff, he was up here last night but I'll pop down the road and ask.

We have disgusting weather for the next few days and he wont get it wet or use grubby roads so it may be a short while before the conditions settle enough.

Thanks Richard. I have a month or so to finish the calendar now so hopefully that will be enough time for your weather to improve.
