Hey Keith! You seem to me that you have traced at least half- if not the two thirds!- of the survived Aussie Blitzes!

I photographed this Chev a couple of years ago. Of interest to me was the original canvas padding above the drivers head. It occurred to me the wire frame and retaining clips present considerable danger to anything less than a well aimed head butt. I think I'd prefer to take my chances with the flat metal roof!

Ford engine cover on Gumtree

A nice looking engine cover from a Ford F15, perhaps a little pricey at $120. Nyngan area, no connection.

More info Colin.

It will be good to have another in Gippsland. They have a couple of years to get it ready for Corowa, 'The Year of General Motors etc'.

Do they need a body? I do know of a good tipper for a C60S or F60S.

regards Rick

I am still looking for an F15a or F60S... I don't think I could fit anything else down the driveway into the garage. Will keep looking...

gumtree blitz

I've been to visit the ford blitz. Cab is shot to hell, scrap really. Missing grill, bumper bar, headlights, dash, doghouse, only one seat, 8ba engine. Brakes not working, no fuel tanks, tool box rusted and modified, tray missing tailgate.....

Jack on E-Bay

I think the seller has his jacks mixed up. Check his other items, the one above this one is the Blitz jack and this one the old car one.

Regards Rick.

For my money I would buy the one listed as a Blitz jack!

Not at all Rob, I've just bought the F60L you flagged here! It suits my needs perfectly - notwithstanding Ryan's less than glowing report! Actually he's right, it was in danger of being scrapped so we settled on $1100. I'll post some pics elsewhere rather than clutter up the For Sale forum.

BTW Rob if you're looking for a Ford blitz project you should put in a Wanted ad here, I'm sure MLU members could come up with some good prospects between us all. Does it have to be in good condition or are you prepared to start with something rough?

Also on gumtree is this ex-RAAF F60L Derrick advertised at $3500, despite having failed to sell on ebay earlier this year at $2000 !

It would however make for a cheap and easy resto and quite a unique vehicle, not to mention a handy piece of kit to have around the place. Judging by the AWM pic here it could even change its own motor! (no wisecracks from Chev owners please!)

I was keeping this one quiet as I was bidding on it but in the end I didn't get it......I didn't get back to the computer in time for the end of the auction.

I have never seen one before for sale, I've seen the Chev ones several times but never the Ford book. Rare I guess.

20" blitz rims. Is $100 a fair price? I'm after a set for my C15A but it's too much for me especially taking into account getting them here...

C15A had 16" rims fitted unless you are after a bit more road speed ?
$100 is a bit steep especially when the tyres aren't useable

Richard Coutts-Smith 13-10-13 21:20

I agree, $100 sounds like way too much, considering the extra costs for transport and disposal of the damaged tyre, mind you these are cast IRON rims.....
Perhaps I want adv. for rims within the distance you are willing to cover posted on MLU.
Alternativley, when these rims fail to sell, contact seller and make an offer..
Rich.

Grant Bowker 13-10-13 21:31

If they are truly cast iron rims, they are either worth a great deal because they are the only cast iron blitz rims know to remain or worth nothing because they should be stamped steel which is considerably less brittle than many forms of cast iron.
Of course, to my eyes the image looks like a garden variety stamped steel rim - albeit in fairly good shape externally (I have no idea if the Australian wheels are subject to the same rot along the line where rim meets disc that we see in eastern Canada).

yeah it's got 16s, nothing wrong with them but after a bit more ground clearance, and more road speed wouldn't hurt either. And I think they need 20s to fill the wheel arches to make them look complete!

IMO they're not cast iron, I do plan on putting an add up just need to have some money ready, but I might as well contact him after they fail to sell too ;)

Private_collector 13-10-13 22:39

Harry,

What state are you in?

If Queensland, I may be able to help you locate 20" wheels. I wouldn't expect them to cost $100 each, either!
