Great pictures Hanno - very sorry I didnt get to meet you face to face. I was determined to get around everyone, but it just didnt pan out that way, I think Mark Van Alderen was there as well but I didnt get to meet him either.

Tried not to leave any stone unturned at this event as I do not know if I'll ever get back.

This is also for the blokes on the forum who may never get to War and Peace.

M8 Greyhound with 'crew', the stalls and Russian Jeep, your's truly with the closest shot we could get of the Panther.

The Panther was one used by the French after the war then used as a Range target. Rescued by the Rex the guy who runs War and Peace but it is not a runner. I would think the cost of getting it to go would be prohibitive..

The living history display you lads did was very impressive and a credit to you.

Could have easily been passing you a note as a dispatch rider from headquarters in Alexandria.

German equipment
 

I suppose I shouldnt have been surprised at the amount of German equipment that was at W&P - but I was.

Anyway, there were a couple of impressive displays of German equipment as well

Perhaps someone could identify the individual pieces in this set of photo's so everyone (including me) knows what they are...

From my limited knowledge - anti aircraft gun.... 20mm?
75mm Pak L/48 anti tank, same gun as on the Mark IV? Perhaps?
Half Track (either German or Czech),
Opel Blitz Truck (Dont know the truck on the left),
Panther and Kubelwagon (possibly replica)

Noooo it gets worse. Reviewing the photo's, I think that was Maurice's F22 on the trailer. I was that close to it and I didn't notice.

To be fair it's very different to mine (different fuel tanks and external battery box), but I'm guessing it was the one as it had the big wheels and the trailer hitch was in the FGT position.

Well Harry you'll just have to come over here next year and see for yourself.

MacArthur has made noises about it and I'm sure there are a few WC members that could be talked into it. Next year is big in many ways, 1914, 1944, etc.

This year was good, almost too hot. Quite authentic for the desert groups.

Nigel, I don't know if you got my message about the 11 set for sale but it was very pricey.

It's a pity the stalls over here in corowa are not as well 'stocked' as those in the uk. Probably for the best though, we'd all be broke.

Radio War and Peace, prefered listening
 

Hi All

No David you did not commit a "no no" or fopaux in posting or re-posting Radio War and Peace as I often listen to it while reading MLU. Though this morning it is not working. Another good web radio network to listen to isThe UK 1940's Radio Station . Generally my preferred listening when I working on the computer about WWII stuff is UK 1940s Radio Station, with its emphasis on 1940s music. But if I'm working on the club newsletter or general military vehicle stuff I listen to Radio War and Peace with its `40 through `70s music. Both of them are up on my favorites tab bar next to MLU.

Get a kick out UK 1940s Radio Station because it tends to play more of UK versions of music instead of the US versions so it is kind of nice and interesting to hear different versions of the same songs.
