It's pointless coming all this way west as most of the dealers like Duck and Deep Fried cleaned us out long ago, that's what they get told anyway. All that's left now is boring crap like Stuarts and Grants and those pig ugly Dingos.

And carriers, they are like cow pats over here, you can't cross the yard without stepping on one.

At present the locals are all getting Ferrets because;
a. it's the flavour of the month.
b. every farm has at least two.
c. You don't need a low loader to shift it, just a battery and some petrol.

There aren't that many Blitz trucks available over here either as the farmers are still using them and are waiting for the warranty to end before selling them on.

Save your money and time. Stay home.

Yeah Jack, I would if someone could help me shift all those crates of jeeps that are blocking it...

Lynn Eades 13-11-07 21:21

Well, that settled that then.

Max Hedges 14-11-07 07:03

I have had a chap from over the border to our west call in and he would like to come back with his truck to relieve me of some goodies. What would a border crossing be worth these days to get past the guards.

Max

Doubting Thomas's indeed

Thanks Jack,
I've lost the box my Panzer Mk2 came in but I've got a picture of it some where... I'll send it to you... oh... I'm busy this weekend polishing my Mustang.

Be on the lookout for Spies! I think this ones an x-con.

Rob Dyba 14-11-07 12:48

Panzer 2's did not come in boxes, you got a piece every fortnight with your "world domination" magazine series...

If you have a heavy lift helecopter who is happy to fly un-logged hours in the wee hours of the night, and you're handy with a shovel, perhaps I have something in crates you may be interested in......

Sorry, no commonwealth stuff in these crates for those interested in all thing British & Empire, they've all got funny white stars on them...

Must be those Damn Yankees.

Rob on the Brisbane Line.........

A reverse border raid

1 Attachment(s)
When he departed Lithgow at 7AM yesterday with an empty trailer, Tony Smith thought he was going to make a quick border raid deep into Victoria to pick up some tyres.

Little did he suspect the tables were to be turned as he wound up crossing the border into Victoria with a full trailer after making the fatal mistake of calling into Yass. "Ahh an empty trailer" says Max. We can fix that!

So many long hours later he arrived in Eltham to the traditional gun tractor greeting around 10.30PM and was guided to my place.

A short sleep later it was morning and time to depart to continue the raid for the tyres, then drive all the way back to Lithgow to commence the night shift at 11.30PM

Thanks Tony for your delivery! :thup2:

phoenix 22-01-08 23:23

Mmm, I spy a No.5 Trailer

That Bloke Looks Familiar

First off Keefy Love the nice blue colour you have applied to your NSW trailer; But that bloke standing over it looks a lot like Mark Chopper Reid??? I wonder if he is related? Must have some sort of cushy job if he can drive all day into the night and turn up at 11.30pm for a shifty sleep. :nono:

lynx42 23-01-08 00:05

Carn't be Chopper. He's got ears.

Rusty 23-01-08 00:10

EARS ?

Only 1 ear that I can see, whose to say the other ones there?;)

Gosh - it was there this morning - hopefully Tony can supply an appropriate pic in due course.

He is well on the way home now - and is extremely pleased with his purchase of tyres.

Border Raids One for Rick Cove

Now Rick I beleive that you and I are the only people to negotiate a purchase from a certain Victorian High country gentleman.

Have a look at the ears on these dodge rear bumpers

G'day Rusty,
I know exactly what they are. Bet not too many others do though. They are the lifting ring off my 1943 Ford Lynx whick was purchased and used around that property in 1956 and cut up in 1957 after blowing up the rear diff. Charlie welded them into the bumpers on one of the Dodge Weapons Carriers he had ex State Electricity Commission so he could use them for tow rings.
Any chance of obtaining them ???
Rick

Where they're from.

What we bought home.

Keith Webb 23-01-08 11:57

Back!

What a marathon - glad to see you made it home safely. Now your challenge will be to stay awake for your shift, or did you sensibly call a sickie?

And what did you expect from a home where the surname is Webb? Those are my guard-redbacks. I neglected to tell Jif about them when he visited because he tends to be a bit of a sissy around our wildlife and electric fences. :yappy:

Eh? Wotcha saying??

I have been trying to find some good 9.00-13 tyres for some time. MLU Member Dinty alerted me to some on e-bay (Thanks for the Heads-up! ). They were ridiculously cheap and no one had bid yet as the seller had placed them in the wrong category  , but they were in Melb and pick up only. Cheap enough to warrant a drive!
As I explained to the Customs Officer in Albury, as I was entering Victoria with a full trailer, I should be entitled to leave with one, too. So it's not technically Border Raiding, it's Border Trading.

Anyhow, managed to fill the No5 with 10 lovely tyres, 4x WW2 vintage and 6x newer Olympics.

No5 trailer in the background cheers mate Dennis :sheep:

Speaking of which I still see no proof the bloke called Tony Smith has a pair.

Yes Rick you can have the Dodge ears do you have a pair or dodge bumpers and we can swap? Old Charlie applied a lot of weld to the eyes and bumpers it will take a lot of carefull cutting and grinding to remove them. We could probally do something at corowa in a couple of months.

Heres a few photos of the current condition of the Dodge that had a tree growing out of the engine bay.

phoenix 24-01-08 02:07

he, he, he, Dinty knows i've been on the prowl for a No.5 that's been left unobserved for a while ;)
