Australian pattern gun tractor for sale

Hard to believe now but this vehicle started life as a No.8 or No.9 Ford gun tractor. Positive ID via "glove box" ammo compartment, remnant rear body to cab frame attachment, forward positioned chassis midsection crossmember with riveted fishplate. Rather pricey but it does sport a fresh coat of paint!

truck canopies

How universal are these things? This one is for a WW2 Mack truck but would it filt a 60L Blitz body too?

lendlease 27-10-14 00:09

Sorry...but it is NOT for a WW2 Mack. It is for the latest batch of 1980's Mack 6x6 trucks just released from the army.

Great start for a restoration, all you need to find is the rest of the truck!

Correct Andrew, the bows would look great on one of your trucks!

Tony Smith 25-12-14 03:16

I have no idea what this suits, but the shape and length of this canopy, particularly the rear flap reminds me of the Australian 3A Marmon-Herrington Gun Tractor body. Or something like that? Perhaps? :confused

http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/im...cons/icon1.gif Scammell
The Scammell bogie, and three were purchased by the DND, was also used in each of a Bedford- and Dennis- Scammmell prototype. Identical bogie in fact in 1938. For brief details see my article in VINTAGE ROADSCENE magazine.

To amplify Keith's comment, Ford did offer a "F60X" in 1940-41, and as mentioned before a Lincoln Zephyr V-12 -powered beastie.

F60H production ended for Canadian orders on 14th August 1941.

Cab 12

Not only that it's a C15 cab 12 which is even more unusual here.

Is the seller known here?

The background blitz

The one in the background is my F15, but the Sigvan is Euan's and for someone either restoring one or thinking about it would be a great low cost way to get a lot of fittings.
My F15 is not for sale though!
