Mike Its ass end doesn't look to bad but it is kind of droopy though.

Sorry Lynn but I have no ID plates for this carrier. I do have the choke information plate and the made in Ford plate but that is it.

The number on the front armour is
"T 51176 4 1942 Ford 6472"

Keep in mind this armour is not original to the carrier.

After spending the last few nights making up some stencils for my markings I managed to apply them today.

The Maple leaf was taken ffrom a scan off of an original Divisional decal. I will still be adding the C II into the maple leaf.

The headlights have also been mounted. I don't have them hooked up yet as I don't have any of the conduit pipeing.

If anyone has a spare front right mudgaurd please let me know as I could use one.

Stewart Loy was over today to help me with my track problems. Once you have the proper tools it is much easier to properly tension your tracks.

Finally I got the last side plate on for good. The previous owner has mis-measured the right side plate by 3 inches. My unlce and myself welded in a piece to make it fit.

If anyone has any spare brackets and other thingies for the tool plate please let me know. As you can see I need them all.

I like the Mud kicked up in the Droppy Rear end, Hey Jordan I think you have the Talent to make a Front fender and the left front just needs a little rubber hammering and sum Bondo, also rear fenders are easy too to make your self, Now, lad get on those Shutters!! Mike, my metal fab/bending skills really suck. Its not worth my time to mess about making a part like that and have it turn out to be so so. Id rather wait for an original to show up and pay for it that way.

Brad and David, The carrier has actually had mud in the tracks since sometime last fall. I only had it out for its first time about 2 weeks ago. With the rain we had the last few days it now has fresh mud in them

I don't know the exact total of fastners used but it is a lot. There is at least 300 on it so far. I know what you meen about welded hulls. However I kinda like the rivet look. Makes it look older.

Lynn, I know those back wheels are really pulling the rear end down. Im supposed to be getting some more wheels from another MLU'er but we havn't been able to get together yet.

I also did a bit more painting on it today. Durring the war, the RHLI painted a "Hell's Angles" logo on the side of all there carriers. Since my carrier is supposed to be used by the regiment during its stay in England prior to going to France I figured I would paint on the logo. What do you guys think. My only concern will be the reception of the "Hell's Angles" part as this is the name of the outlaw biker gang in Ontario and Quebec and parts of the US.

Jordan as far as the "HELLS ANGLES" tag thier not A "OUTLAW" Biker Gang, Besides any MC club would Honor you as a "Cage" Driver with a tank:) thats if you can get her up to 65 MPH LOL. Hey as far a Fabrication , If you Got the Cash Spend it on something cool.

The Stencil Pic on your Carrier cool , I'd leave it, ? tho how come the Right armour side plate is Higher in the pic in the right corner and your Angle Iron Fire Rest holders arn't Flush with the top Side armour Plate. Nice to see the Tracks all tightend up, yes Get those rear Bogies Cuz you carrier will look like a Late T34, Just kidding. :)

Yes it is King George the VI. At the time he was Colonel in Chief of the RHLI. Next to him is Major-General V.W. Odlum. The one in the front is Brigadier C.B. Topp and the driver is Lt. W.D. Whitaker. At the time Whitaker was the O.C. of the Carrier platoon. By wars end he was O.C. of the Regt and retiered post war as Brigadier General.

So if the RHLI painted that on , do them proper respect and paint it as they had it. Otherwise you are revising history to appease modern day prejudices. Take the picture of the King and any other you have and display them with the carrier. Educate people, they will be fascinated.
Also note that the symbol is not even clsoe to the Hell's Angels logo.
A swastika ( even bugs me to type the word) is a symbol of good luck in Asia and is very widespread. It has been a good luck symbol for thousands of years. Yet you get arrested for it in Germany, we all know why but most people do not know about asia. Point is, educate people.
And , a really outstanding job on your carrier so far.

...Thx ALex. As earlier said, Hell's Angels , is a name several honorable groups used and deserves to be remembered for that reason. I would put the RHLI up against the current crew using the Hell's Angels moniker any day. I recall a Bomber having nose art calling itself Hell's Angel too.

Picture of my dash panel. I managed to make up some adaptor plates for the gauges out of really thin sheet metal and they work rather well. I only need the dash lamp and the the water temp guage.

All of the markings (that I know of) have now been applied. I added the RHLI "Hell Angles" logo to both sides as thats how they had them. The "T 51176" is the number that had been stamped on the front armour. I have also added the "Sling Here" markings to the front of the hull. The license plate has also received the "T 51176" I left the plate green as my original was green and it had no sign of black.

I should also add that the piece of wood sitting on the front plate is the blanking board. I copied this off of an original.

These last two are some nice "romantic" pictures. I took it for a little drive and it got dark rather quickly. I haven't hooked up the headlights yet although I doubt the would help much.

Enough driving around for now. I managed last night to make up some rear fenders. I cut them out with the angle grinder and bent them with a vise and a couple of rubber mallets. Im rather pleased with myself on them.

Just to confirm the div sign goes on the drivers side.

Well after almost 2 years I got my vision slots back. A friend of mine copied the parts to make up the rest of what was needed. All that I had to do was drill all the holes and come up with the fastners.

I should have the brass plungers back sometime soon. Once I get them the rest of the holes will be drilled out.

Finaly got my vision slot covers instaled. Well mostly...

Im still waiting for the plunger parts to be finished and then they should be done. Some of the components are new made while others are original. Some of the original parts were badly cut up trying to get them off 2 years ago.

The glass holders on these are in original SCC2.

I should also add that all of the hardware has been replaced with new stuff. Again this was mostly because the originals got rather cut up trying to get these things off.
