Rob

The aiming posts you have are American pattern. There may be the data plate on them with M1A1 (C1A1) designation on them.

Hello do you have any grease tins for sale please Arthur

Trouble light

2 Attachment(s)
Have been wondering for a long time, have had 2 trouble lights, the first I gave to a friend, and that had a C arrow stamped bulb in it, and I still have this second one, but no C markings, just a US bulb number.

Nothing else on the body, or inside, no markings at all!!!

Does anyone recognize it??

Cheers,

Lex

The whole kit is very heavy.

This set belongs to another collector... does it look familiar to anyone?

Same as the WW2 items, made for the 6x6 International F5 Wreckers:

Or ground anchors over here. Each pin holds half a ton in good ground. The ground anchor plate with 8 pins equals 4 ton. More required? just keep pinning another ground anchor plate on and drive in more pins. Some were cast as per pic. some were pressed steel. The pressed steel ones had male / female ends that came with a pin, that enabled them to be strung together. Those are the good pins. We had a lot that had eyes formed by welding rod on, which could fail when trying to extract them.
Man those are expensive. They must have gold in the bits we cant see?

Price is not each, it's for the whole lot.

Guys,

I just bought these today.......as a bit of a gamble. Any ideas if these are original CMP kit???

The larger one with the exposed gears has "Made in Canada" written on the side along with "no 16.

The more rounded one has "2 Ton Capacity" and "SJ2000" on the side.

Jacks

It seems there was a wide variety of jacks. I am no subject matter expert but it could be various manufacturers supplied their own type of jack. It may be only the weight rating was important?

I believe the SJ2000 is a CMP jack. For some reason I think the model is even specified in one of the parts manuals, although I cannot find it right now.

Lynn Eades 25-10-21 05:15

I believe the external geared one with the fold over spacer is Ford truck (commercial) They were issued with New Zealand built LP2 (Aust. pattern ) carriers, but were not up to the job. A couple of the ones in Hanno's photos are shown being used to lift a British carrier in a Brit. Carrier manual.

Hanno, Rob, Lynn,

Thanks for your thoughts.

Rob, Thanks. I noticed mine has the hinge for the spacer broken off and the spacer missing, but it does look the same as the one in Rob Fast's picture at the start of this thread. I now also see it in one of the tool layout pictures on Clives factory photos CD....a GM picture, but it's also shown in a Ford picture. (both attached).

The funny thing is that I bought both, presuming the one with the exposed gears might be CMP, and the other was just nice to have. Now it seems, it might be the other way round!

Bob Carriere 26-10-21 01:32

I got one of those SJ2000......

..... it was left behind by my Dad's brother when he came to our house back in 1946 or 47 to pullout the family car, a 39 DeSoto from the Winter shed..... it had a flat rear tire....shed was very cramped and my uncle used a jack from the WC51 he was driving ( he was still in the service)...... it got left behind......my Dad used it for years and I saved it not really knowing what it belong to..... sadly the little top piece was broken off years ago..... I still have the two piece folding crank to push it under the vehicle and crank it up. I think I will clean it up and carry it in the C15a.

Cheers

Dreadnaught Wrenches

I haven't posted on here for a while, my hobby focus has become a bit random...but a discussion on the dreaded facebook referred to Dreadnaught tools. I found a few in my AF odds-and-sods toolbox.

Not marked "Made in Canada". Simply "Molybdenum" on the reverse. They seem to be cad. plated. Are these wartime era / CMP / Carrier compatible or later ? They turned up in the UK.
