Going way back to the smoke generator bin.

I was test fitting it in my carrier today and I just wanted to run it by everyone. If it fits snug up against the angle iron the one end of the bin sticks out over the inner fender. If its up against the side plate it will need a riser to sit level.

My question is would there have been some sort of wooden or metal riser underneath to make it level and fit against the side plate. Also how far out from the rear plate did it sit. Would it have been just enough for the lid to sit straight up?

This rusty piece of metal is the remains of the "Case - Spare Magazine Assembly" part # CTL 1335A

Anyone have some better pictures of what one of these would have looked like before falling apart. How did the canvas go on it?

I thougth thats where it went but I couldn't find a second hole. Or was it just held in by one?

Just thought I would post this pic showing the front interior of a Mk1 UC. Its not a usual angle for the photo so it makes it nice to see all the bits in place.

Of note is the extinguisher bracket up near the front edge of the engine cover and the darker painted (black?) switch panel on the dash.

Can someone post some pictures of what the mounting bracket looks like for the above signal box. I should add that Im looking for the Canadian version.

Any dimensions would be most helpfull.

I also took this picture back in the summer at the Essex County Military Muster. There was a Mk1 Carrier there that still had the remains of the original smoke generator bin. None the less I got rather excited :eek: and took some pictures.

Just wondering if anyone can provide the sheet metal gauge for the bren tripod box? Not sure if it was 16ga or 18ga.

Jordan, If your making one (felt lined tripod box), can I get the details from you please?

The sheet gauge appears to be the same as the lower engine cover panels.
