Drowning

Les, is that the concrete "drowning" dip at Chobham or perhaps MVEE Farnborough?

David,

I am pretty sure that is Chertsey......and it looks like a Ferret scout car imitating a submarine.

David_Hayward (RIP) 27-07-07 00:02

Chertsey

Must be... I have an even better shot but will reserve that for another time. I reckon Les's shot may MEE or MVEE in Farnborough, as surely there were no such facilities at Chilwell?

Jan, there's no front wheel damage - I'm guessing the lads were out playing silly buggers off-road, and the rider of this one took a jump with a little too much enthusiasm, which broke the steering head. Likewise that Matchless, and it looks like the rider's knees tried to get off through the gas tank.

I've never broken a steering head, but I HAVE buggered a set of forks doing something similar (never mind even more entertaining dismounts OVER the handlebars - at speed)... :D

Question: What happens when one tries to drive 40 tons of truck and dozer across a class 12 Bailey bridge?

Well someone didn’t know the answer had to find out the hard way.

I've got a couple of shots of a Kangaroo on a flatbed in the same situation! Seems like a sport... :D

I'll see if I can find those pics.

Although I do not recognise the spot, it might be Weymouth as there are a lot of photos around of wading trials with armour and trucks, taking place in the sea there.
