Wether it's a Blitz or grass green looks good. Had 13.5 mm over night and steady rain all day. All creeks now flowing and my only dam is past half full. Looks like I will have to lurn how to use the lawn mower again. Don't know how to post pictures yet so will probally drop in on Max for advice one day.

This morning before leaving for work my tank was 18" from the top. This will be the first time it has filled since buying the house 5 years ago.

last 3 days have seen another 50mm fall on Gympie. Today though it is doing it's best to blow us away with strong cool winds. :)

i dont know about your area but it is colder than a mother in laws stare here
they say it is snowing in orange and bathurst areas today

Droughts Broken
 

Here at Paynesville Vic. we have had almost 5 inches today following up the 8 1/2 inches last week. We had 73 days of bushfires in this area earlier this year, now the Princes Highway both East and West of Bairnsdale Vic. (our main shopping area) has been cut by floods and it hasn't looked like stopping all day. Another couple of big SE lows are also bearing down the coast at the moment.Generally, when this happens, it rains for 3 or 4 days straight. We haven't had rain like this for 9 years. Had to pump the boat out twice today and it has an automatic bildge pump as well. We've been on stage 4 water restrictions for many months and they moved to stage 3 two days ago.
I guess the droughts broken.

Strange thing is that in England there are floods and heavy rain as well, and its summer...also Wimbledon tennis too and I recollect it was wet for that last year. So long as it clears in time for Beltring, we will get a heatwave then, no doubt.

Saw Englands flood problems on the news last night. We haven't reached flood peak level as yet. Supposed to reach 8 metres later today. Major detours to get to Bairnsdale, Main Highway is closed in the town and about 6 other places. Went to town earlier thuis morning and spotted this house being washed downstream. We are all OK here. Our house on the Lake edge is about 1 1/2 metres above the highest flood level in living memory.

Gosh, you guys are having a rough time as well. Hope you do not suffer, but some poor soles are from the look of it.

Down in the south east of England, we have been extremely lucky, heavy rain but as yet not enough to flood.

Survival of the species. Just how many different bugs can you get on a post in the flood?

Six wet days in a row and still raining. No more shortcuts across the swamps the bogs are getting wet for first time in three years. I should be able to find out if tyres on blitz are really mud terrains.My neighbours are smiling a lot more now it's great. :D :D :D
