That friend delivered the C60 cab today. By coincidence, the round gauges that are missing on the C15A are good on this one. There aren't a whole lot of parts that I need off it but the windshield frames are good and there's one seat. With the C8 using 5 seats and the HUP needing four, plus three or four others needing two each, my seat requirements sure add up. The C60 had a bottom spring setup and I have two others but they are all in questionable shape. I'll have to find a good source for the coil springs for them.

PS I've set up a thread asking that HERE |

We had to go and "pick up" a 1947 CJ2A today. I know it's not military but the farmer just wanted to 'get rid of it' so the price was right. The motor's stuck but about all that's missing is the endgate and the radiator.

Most people might not see much value here but for those in the know it's a load of treasures! A farmer gave me the remains of this carrier and with it and my other one there's enough to put together a driveable one. Both of them are Mk IIs.
I've got to go back tomorrow and get an excellent 2H1 box for a 15 cwt. |

Gotta love that picker truck!! It sure makes these jobs easy.
These tracks and road wheels aren't in near as good of condition as my first set, but for the price I sure can't complain! |

I went and got the 2H1 today. The wood is a bit weathered but then it's all original too. It's made of square edge boards and doesn't use any joiner strips like the 2A1. The data plate reads:
25 - 43 2H1-840 |
Dave,
nice find again. You collection seems to be growing all the time! The box looks particularly smart....great find. Alex |
Look at THAT!
Great finds David,
Still shaking my head in disbelief at the 2H1 Body. It is in amazing condition. It must have been stored out of the weather, surely. Looking forward to you starting a carrier resto thread. |

A neighbour gave me this box today and I didn't know he even had it. It's 'just' a 2C1 but there's an F15A in my lineup waiting for it. Now I've got two 2C1s, one 2B1, one 2H1, one 2A1, plus the 1A2 and the HUP. That's a lot of rear bodies!

I hauled the latest 2C1 home and set it on an F15A. The lineup is looking pretty good.

Latest Aquisition
Hi Dave .Look's like you are ready for war with that lineup .I don't think some of these fellows from afar know how iron and wood can sit out side for years and servive like in Saskatewan .But did you get alot of rain this year ? We only had 3" all summer .It's good to see your pictures so when you see a box like some of yours a person will know what you are looking at .Is that your brother doing all the work with that picker?

Well, I couldn't thrash today so we went south of Elrose and picked up that C8 that was discussed before. I thought both front wheels were on it but there's only one. The front wheel adapters are there but the rear ones are gone. It's hard to believe it sat in that same spot for 60 years unmolested.

Hi Dave The threshing has been done here two weeks ago with a good crop in most places .That's not too bad a looking driver . Keep up the good work

Good rescue
Hi

Good rescue Dave...

Looking for these C8 knee shock mounts is you are considering parting some of it out. Cheers Rob in Steinbach Maniktoba

Knowing how hard it is to access wheels and tires and adapters for the 8cwts, I'll likely use the cab on a 15cwt and not use the chassis. Anybody wanting 8cwt parts let me know. I'd prefer to trade for stuff I need but that's not always possible. Rob, both those shock mounts are there. Did you ever get enough wheels?

Yes, I am up and parade ready!

I am up and running concerning 13 inch rims and adapters. Still looking for 2 tires for the front rims, running aircraft tires up there just to keep rolling. See pic...she's a beauty. Cheers Rob

Excellent recovery Dave! Seems to good to use for parts maybe????
If you do decide to use the cab for another project and use the rest for parts, than I would be interested in the shock links if they are still in good nick(rod that runs from the shock absorber arm to te axle) and to a lesser extent, the parking brake rods and the filler ring that goes between the rear springs and spring hangers. Knee shock mounts sure would look great under ...
