I am advertising this on behalf of the family of a late customer, who had bought it from John Marchant a few years back. John had restored it originally. Fitted with a 100hp Mercury V8 as opposed to the normal 95hp V8, it is believed to be a Windsor Carrier engine. The signwriting on the door was found when John restored it, showing that it had once belonged to Oxford University and used on two expeditions, Southern Morocco (1955) and Southern Turkey (1956). This vehicle is now on 12 volt and runs well. Has been kept in dry storage.

Asking price is £7,800

Viewing by arrangement only, located in South Kent. Contact me via PM or on mobile 07770 378253, thanks.

What a find....what a shame.....

So much rust...... if it was not for the paint the cab would collapse.

That being said it is a very good complete model to work from.

I have only seen rusted truck likes this in Eastern Canada when exposed to road salt or vehicle stored near the coast subject to sea salt spray.

Bob, that's called "in peeling paint condition" ;)

That rear body isn't original to the truck, so all you basically have is a chassis?

"CLEARED FROM PROPERTY TODAY", probably the property was cleared as well as it wasn't giving much protection to the poor Chev.

This no doubt was once a much-loved truck! :(

kevin powles 25-02-12 22:54

Hi, This machine is only 25 miles from me, a worth while investment?. See if I can get a snap shot of that barn.

kev.

Bob Carriere 26-02-12 04:28

THe box......

.....looks like a Brits transplant....... with the round mud guards.....
what is the box from ...??????

Bob

gordon 26-02-12 10:09

Hmm

Well, if it came from the army like that it might be a good candidate for restoration exactly as it is, 'wrong' body and all.

No arguing with that paintjob, is there?

Gordon

kevin powles 27-02-12 17:28

Hi, Had a look at this old girl today. I think if you tried to load it it would fold in half, aparently the barn had no roof!.
