generator door....
 

here some more pictures of the offside generator door.
I want to use the generator space for storing tools and so.
So I made the door to have hinges and a lock. first thing I did was to test fit
the woodendoor to make sure the hinges are in the right place.
then I made the sheet metal for one side and bended the edges around the wood. now the second sheet was putt on and the hinges to.
On the outside I putt in the sheets with the louvers and made the edges smooth ready for painting. the two locks were putt in place.
so now it neads paint and screwed in to place and the outside is as good as ready, only the ladder neads to be made.

i like the music of the rolling stone very much, but to paint the radiobody black :eek: seams a bit to far so I stayed with cream white.
now the gennydoor was dying I started to paint the inside white it took a 1 1/2 ltr of paint. I did the blackout panels for the side windows to and put them in place whits took some swet to get them in place and work.
I made all the bolting points on the chargeing panel and screwed it on the wall, only the switches are missing.
I screwed the variometer on the roof next to the small window and put the antenna outlet glass in place with the blackout box to.

Hi guy's I have made two cupboards, one big and one small. I modiffied the big cupboard a bit with sliding doors so it is more of use to me.
I finely have alot off pictures of the inside off the radiobody thanks to our member sparky form the UK. he has a morris wirelessbody to, thanks sparky :note: :thup2: he was oke with it to show some pictures.
the first three are his and the last two are my cupboards.
I started on the genny box and the 2 lee enfield holders. the big box on the vender next to the chair in sparky's picture, I have one to, but don't know what's it for ? I have to do that next time.

hi guy's here are some pictures of the inside of the radiobody it is ready. :D
the desk is inplace ready to take the radio, only the switchboxes need to be put in place. all the cupboards ready and the unknown box on the vender to is in it's place, to take what ever it has to.
all it needs are some old posters on the walls and some equipment.
the next step is to paint the camo pattern (mickey mouse) on the outside of the truck and the it is ready, I hope :fry:

thanks alex, yes I'll try to be there this year (if I get a carburator problem solved.)
I have the inside ready, all painted. the desk is in place for the radio, only need to put the junctionboxes on there spot on the wall. I used some glue to put up some ww2 posters (A4 size) on the wall to get the right atmosfeer.
the outside was ready to paint on the mickey mouse camouflage. this took some thinking work to get it right (it has to look good to). :rolleyes
I allso gave it the decals of the 49th west riding (polar bear) division, signal corps attached to the recce regt of this division. this because the recce of this division helped liberating holland (roosendaal,arnhem,amersfoort,utrecht,amsterdam, den haag) as part of the canadian army.

I had to do one more job and that was to put the ladder on the back and done. I had to make the ladder myself so my dad stept in by giving me the iron bars of a old bed from my grand ma. these iron bars where bent on the ends already so I didn't have to do this, only to shorten them to the right length and do some welding to put everything together and it looks like a ladder so mission succes.

I have a question about the number Z 4200302 this was the number I found on the petrol tank, but the secont 0 was not clear to be sure it is a 0.
can anybody tell me what it can be, if it was a 0 or a 6 or .... (the picture of the tank are on this forum to see the original number.)
hope someone can shine a light on this.

My guess would be zero as there dosent appear to be a cross at the centre for a 6
The next number maybe either a 3 or an 8 though

thanks andrew it is not easy to see what it is, so I hope someone can tell me with what no they started or in what group this no could fall, but thanks anyway.
I had some upholstery work to do with the 2 chairseats in the cab. I had one old springseat from dirk, but these were rusted away nearly. so I strat looking for a replacement springs. Ifound them ad a locale seatshop. they are a littlebit bigger in diameter but work well. I sandblasted the old frame and made a new one for the otherone. Then connected the springs to the frames by ironwire. painted the whole thing with primer and put a pillowcover over it so it is easier to put the kokosmat on top, so the springs not leave a mark in your bummm. :ergh:
I had bought some nos seatcovers from dirk and it took some time to put them over the seats, but they look very nice and sit like a sofa.

David I don't know anything more than the number I have found on the petroltank, I would like to know more about this number. first of all is this number right ? (because I am not sure about the 2e zero) second can anyone give more info about the contract number that comes with this number or maybe any history. :note:

you can see some already in stefan's thread but here are some pictures of my truck at the "harskamp " weekend in the mid's of holland at a army shooting ground. for me it was a 100 ml drive (one way) so this was very exiting trip, would the truck make it and back, and it did (have some oil leaks but) and the best part was that satherday evening, after the fried rice dinner the KTR jury gave me the nicecest vehicle cup 2011. :D this made my day.
I made some pictures at the camp of my truck and later together with stefan's truck to. his truck is become very nice to, I think he will win next years cup with this truck.

THANKS for all your congrat's it was very good to hear all your comments and tips. Yes i am 6'6" (198 cm) and with some handeling (with my legs) I get in the truck and it sits just fine. To the harskamp weekend it took me a 3 hours drive to get there and it was oke, while I was doing this in a jeep before, my bum hurted very much so this is beter driving.
I have still some work to do on the truck, there has to be a tarp on both sides on the roof with all the fixings. the aerial poles on the side I have to find or make (14 of them) and then it is realy realy ready. I think :confused

here is some more detail work done on my truck. I read in my spare parts book that there was a cusion on the inside of the roof above the seat of the driver. :confused this was to protect the drivers head from bumping against the roof and hurting it. the co driver has a handel in front of his seat to hold on to. :eek:
So I started to make one cusion and attaching it to the roof. And yes it works I find out at the arnhem trip.
I also made 8 leather straps on the roof sides of the radiobody to store the canvas tarp rol with.

..... on my cab 11 they had a molded foam rubber pad on both sides....driver and the passenger side...... most factory pictures show two pads on the ceiling.

Does your cab have the roof brace running crosswise?
 

Bob- Does your cab have the roof brace running crosswise? Mine Pat 12 has the black rubber pad but running across the roof just in front of it is a roof brace so if you miss the black rubber pad you hit the roof brace.

Given the springs on these trucks I suspect that the pad is needed more running empty than with a full load.

I just went through most of my pictures ..... and I have thousands..... but still short a few as I never took photos of the inside roof..... always need more photos.

So from memory on my cab 11 I have a spot welded rib that runs from left to right across the cab roof...... no hatch remember.

On the cab 12 the rib runs from to back almost over the driver's side..... and a small 5 to 6 inch rib runs front to back near the front of the rectangular hatch.....

.... I think.... will need to look again at the barn....

My roof pad was a molded black rubber foam...... smooth rubber finish... no canvas cover and glued with some real glue to last 70 years....

I am using an old CMP seat bottom.... looks good when you look at it.... springs are too soft and my butt tooooo heavy....driving in the field the seat springs bottom out and man that steel pan is hard.... I am seriously considering carving out a seat cushion built up of a variety of foam blocks with different progressive density .... hate loosing my expensive teeth fillings.
I will have eye bolts for quick release seat belts so they can be removed for shows...... and used for playing cowboys.

How is the HUP coming along..?
