Four days of dirty job, but final paint completed. Now ready for mounting internals. |
it's been a long journey but she looks great

Well done mate, she looks great. It's a certain moment when a vehicle is all one colour and you can stand back to admire it.
Now the FUN begins!! :thup2: :drunk: |
Thanks guys! Im very happy that I have finished this part of restoration.

Front compartment seats finished!
|
Petr, in you post #194 (engine mount photo) there are two holes under the brake rod. A leaf spring bolts in there to stop the rod slapping on the floor
(just in case you don't know) |
Didnt know that Lynn, must check it out! Any pics please?

Installed! Much more comfortable now :yappy:

Just trying to help Petr. The next thing is that the seat cushions go around the other way, with the rounded corners to the front. (I used to think they should go in the way you put them)
Those anti slap springs are just a flat leaf that goes up slightly as it goes rearward from the bolts. they hold the rod above the bolt heads. The rear end flattens out. A guess from my computer chair, I'd say they are about 120mm long x about 21mm wide, and possibly a little thinner than the throttle spring leaves. I have a picture somewhere but not able to find it yet. There are covers that go over the rods as well. |

Thanks Lynn, that will help me! Must create them :)
And no problem with the cushions - just tried if they fit. Im aware about the correct orientation, however I have seen both ways of placing, but this is not important now. Rotating the cushions is the easiest thing. But thanks for your input! Oil cooler just arrived, not 100% identical with the original (which I dont have) but very well made. |

Differential end finished. I finally went a bit different way (not so pure) than Marcel did. Used common seal with correct ID and machined flange with correct OD. Should works.

Exhaust mufflers are back on! Don't tell me they are ugly - I know that :D
Also replica oil cooler provisionally mounted - fits like a glove :) |
that oil cooler looks great
|
Thanks Rick, it is really nicely made, hopefully it will be also working well.
If anyone would need one for his project, I think I'm able to supply this repro. |
That exhaust system looks just fine, Petr. Give it a few miles of run time to get nice and toasty and it will take on enough heat discolouration to look right at home. Well done!

Petr, I have never seen the big hole in the bottom of the div. plate before.
Maybe some good photos for the guys. I have a cover for it should you want to pay the freight? |
