My cooking skills are a bit rusty, Max, but I'm pretty good when I get going. Do you like spaghetti? I'm a whiz at spaghetti sauce.

Kartmann might not be able to reach the gutters, though, and the sheep you expect her to shear weigh more than she does...

G.

PS: Do we get to chase sheep in your carrier? :D

BTW, my new travel agent is a REALLY cute long-haired, blue-eyed blonde, closer to my age than my beloved Jessie and for once, no ring! :D

PS: Of course it doesn't change the fact that I'm in love with Jessie...

Jif..
I talked to Jessie about your upcoming trip and your amazing singing voice and she would love to go with you to Oz but has prior commitments ...but she said she called her sister and her sister would pay her own way,buy the beer and go with you as you assistant ...and baggage handler....and lead in the singing...

She sent me her picture to show you she is a serious contender for the position of "Personal assitant" to the CEO of MLU...She said she would even pay you for the job,as she is rolling in dough from the insurance policys from her past three husbands...
Say the word and I'll have her contact you off line...

Looking forward to seeing the photos!

Cliff :)
Ah, I found it! :D I had to search the forum to find the post about what cigarettes are available in Australia ... I thought I remembered that you'd said Rothmans. Thanks again Cliff ;)

cliff 05-02-07 09:24

yep all normal brands are availible including in some good tobacconists American and English brands...if you can afford them!

Just beware that cigarettes made in different countries, even with the same brand name, are not necessarily the same as those you buy at home. I found this out because of differences in New Zealand made to Australian made product.

Smokes...

I still reckon this trip is the PERFECT opportunity to get rid of the fags forever! Chuck out the packet you are working on now & BEGONNE!
(By the way, when I say "Fags" I mean "smokes", not the other "fags". But feel free to give them up, too, if you think you should...)
OOhhhhh. OK I'll shut up now.

Scientists say that smoking COULD stunt your growth, Karmen! Prove them all wrong by giving up, yet still staying the same height! :confused

"Giving up"

Give up the smokes!!! It's really easy. I've done it lots of times.
The last time was 1983 and I haven't lost an inch in height since.
I have gained a few around the middle though.

Piss off, you lot. We'll do that when we get around to it! :p

BTW, I'm 5'9" and 150 lbs, and Karmen is already only the size of a large housecat. Whatever works, ok? Giving up smoking and getting fat(ter) just doesn't work for us. :)

Thanks Cliff,

I know that American cigarettes certainly smell and taste differently than our Canadian products. I used toi smoke Drum Tobacco (now don't go labelling me a Hippy here, I just heard this Dutch product used less chemicals in the processing than the usual tobaccos and was less expensive) Drum has a much stronger and different smell and taste than all other tobaccos. I smoked it for about 17 years.

I started smoking when I was 13 and it wasn't long before I started ripping the filters off and then finally switched to non-filtered cigarettes (Export Plain :D ) I was into smoking for the hit and not the social thing at all, by then of course  By the way, Export tobacco and cigarettes products are produced by Macdonalds company/family and my Aunt married one of those Macdonalds ... I wonder if they got free cigarettes? :D (I doubt it)

I've wanted to WANT TO QUIT for a long time now and keep meaning to give quitting another go ... I guess I'm just full of hot air so far ............................. :bang:

I reckons yer right about that Master HH :fry:

:D ... you know, when I think of all the major challenges I've faced and got through or overcome in my life and then think about my failures to quit smoking except for one week in all these 40 years, I feel :o to know I choose to accept staying addicted. Can't believe I've done this for 40 years this year and I'm still alive to talk about it ... and I love hearing stories from people who have smoked for 40 years steady and one day just quit cold turkey!!!!!!!!! WOW ... ... gives me hope I may one day soon reach that point of giving up the selfindulgence too. I've mixed feelings about quitting, obviously.

Smoking has never stunted my growth Master Tim Tam Tony ... I was born short ... at just 20 inches ... and have steadily grown to 5"1 and a quarter inches, so smoking stunting the growth is an Old Wives Tale/Myth .... although old age has lost me height and am down to just 5' these days. I wonder though, if I quit smoking, will I regain that inch and a quarter height :confused
:D

If I quit smoking by the time I get to Sydney though, perhaps I'll quickly reach 5"1 and a quarter inches WIDTH WISE before leaving Oz again? ... would I still fit in a CMP for a ride :D

Okay. Just for you Master Grant, SIR ... I shall give it up just for you! And what shall be my reward? Tim Tams to fatten me up? :D

Well, at least you'll give it up for 14.5 hrs between San Fran and Sydney... as for the rest, they'll find out soon enough that you really don't NEED fattening-up. Both of us are fat enough as it is... :D :p

Well ... I'm certainly heavier than I was a few months ago :D

Howard 11-02-07 01:20

Weight Gain

No No NO! No weight gain! It is considered impolite to leave someone's place heavier than when you got here. Just so you know what's going on when we weigh you upon your arrival!
;)
Actually, you can be pretty sure & certain of eating well! Get used to the idea of letting the belt out a notch or two...
Looking forward to it
HH
(Jo is a good cook. Before her I weighed 75kg. Now 105kg!)

Okay ... I won't get TOO fat then :D

I'm actually VERY much looking forward to visiting with everyone and enjoying the socializing with meals and such. Food always more fun and tastes better with great company ;)

I love cooking too and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I don't usually follow recipes ... more like following impulse unless I want a specific recipe done :D

This is going to be one great trip :smoker:

FYI ... I finally found a site for USA border crossings rules ... one of the rules is NO LIGHTERS carry on and special rules for checked ... visit the link for more info about lighters and matches ;)

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtrav...able_0099.shtm

A list of everything permitted and not permitted on carry on AND checked luggage:

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtrav...ted-items.shtm

All sorts of other info on the left side of the page (like medical stuff)

It's interesting to read the lists and find out travel rules for the different places to visit in the world. I never thought about any of this stuff before now, except for visiting the States, and that was usually escorting my daughter to visit her Dad (flying or driving my kid to Spokane Airport) and the odd drive across the line to visit people in Washington or Oregon. I was always so blown away how simple it was to cross into the States driving, with only a "Where you from, why are you visiting and for how long" for driving across, and not even checking ID's except rare checking drivers licences.

It actually really threw me some. VERY unnerving, because when I drove my daughter across I could have been anybody taking her and the border guys asked hardly anything and sent me right through  I was not reassured :( I think the last time I drove her across to Spokane Airport was about roughly about 10 years, or so, ago.

Well folks, only another 5 sleeps before the flights to Oz. I can't believe this is happening so quickly now. Amazing turn of events, for sure, for Ma Yappy.
