Next part arrived in the mail today.

The blitz is taking a 12 month holiday, I haven't got the time to work on it for the rego check so will hand the plates in and start again next year. :(

lynx42 24-10-14 09:06

That's a bit sad Robert. :whinge Hopefully you will find a few hours over the next 12 months to do what is needed.
Remember though, it is not the vehicle that is the most important, it is the person who is the custodian of the vehicle who is the most important as without them there would just be another vehicle for the scrap drive. :thup2:

Regards Rick.

Rego day is on 8th. Nov so I need to get the blitz ready. I removed the manifolds today and fitted the new threads for the flange. I still have to clean the head before fitting the new manifold gasket tomorrow.

It took longer than I thought to fix, plus an extra trip to town for more parts. Had it finished on time though and today I registered the blitz again.

Well done re the rego . No doubt you will be driving around Yaven creek once again .

The dissy looks interesting . Can I ask where you purchased it ? Mike

hrpearce 01-12-15 11:18

G'day Rob,

That electronic ignition should serve you well.

I hope it does, I bought one for the flathead V8.

Damn good looking truck you have there. Well done!

Don't suppose you feel like a holiday to QLD, to finish mine?

hrpearce 01-12-15 20:22

ony the rate I am going it will be another five years before my blitz is finished. Maybe I need a holiday at home to work on it. Still a trip to Qld has its appeal.

Another small piece added at long last.
Had a bit of a drive around the paddock this morning for my enjoyment, ran out of fuel six foot short of the shed and wont have any to start it again until Tuesday afternoon. :bang:

Finally had a rear window fitted, no invoice left so I will find out what it cost when I ring on Monday. I can now work on the toolbox and tyre carrier. It is a lot more comfortable in the cab without the rush of air through the back.

David Dunlop 19-06-16 15:07

Robert.

What is the strap assembly with the two brackets fitted, running above the window?

David

hrpearce 19-06-16 22:23

David,
The metal strap held a canvas sheet to the cab and the two brackets accepted the ends of straps that held the canvas roll up.

Mike Cecil 19-06-16 22:29

David,

Aussie cabs had canvas rear curtains fixed across the top edge instead of the steel steel sliding 'window' as in the Canadian cabs.

I thought Chev had the canvas on the outside, and Fords on the inside - it always seemed odd to me to put the canvas on the inside: guaranteed to let the water in, whereas mounted to the outside it kept some water out.

The blitz finally has it's own shed bay.
I am thinking of naming the blitz EDITH after Uncle Ron's mother.

Ken Smith 23-11-18 08:50

She certainly looks happy, in her new lounge room.

"EDITH" is a good name for a Blitz. Not too long and unusual enough these days to encourage questions as to why she is named so.

Many many early Rolls-Royces have names like 'Emily', 'Charlotte', etc. Ours is "Elizabeth Balfour" after my mother, a member of the Rolls Royce Owners Club for many years and by whose legacy, I was able to afford the purchase.

This is "Elizabeth Balfour" my 1924 20hp.

How is the house progressing?
