Love the gauges.....
I have temporarily installed an oil press. temp. and vacuum gauges with pkastic tie straps and will be lost when I remove them....... when I broke a push rod recently it instantly showed on the vacuum guage.
I think I will copy your set up with under dash mounts. Just love to monitor what the engine is doing. By the way very nice job on the truck. Cheers |

RE the (now) Scriven's Cab 13 Portee: I think I remember seeing that in storage in 'Over Dimensional Albert's' very large shed at Whittlesea, already restored, possibly around 2008.
Nice job on the Cab 12. Bugger of a truck to drive: comfort was no consideration, but nice restoration. Mike |
Mike he still has the cab12 with the 2 pounder asking price is 30,000. Has anyone got information on the Australian armoured Dingo. After lots of pictures and parts but most important dimensions etc. Cheers Shane

Ah, the memory is failing! Knew it was a Portee, at least I got that bit right!
D D D D D D D...Dingo: maybe you had better start a new thread so this doesn't get lost amongst the Cab 12 restoration. Best way is visit someone with a Dingo and take a camera and ruler. Rick C lists one, and there is one at the AWM. Mine went to Qld .... and there is one at Merredin as well as a heap of hulls at Nungarin (both WA). Don't know where John Belfields ended up after the auction. I seem to remember OD Albert had the makings of one in that shed, too, parked not far from the $30,000 Portee, but where it is now I would not know ...... And you need Volume 3 of my Profiles series as a reference (but I can't provide you with one as they were sold out years ago), and to find an original User Handbook. Mike |
Hi all
It's been ages since I've put up a post but I'm still on the job. Not much has happened still waiting for my radiator to be done then I'll put up some more pictures I have posted on the Gun forum that I'm chasing a shield for a 2 pounder if anyone knows one for sale. Next week I might be buying my 3rd cab 12 it's a bloody insane disease lol. :bang: |
Another cab 12?
Love your enthusiasm Shane... looking forward to the pics and ARN if it has one.
