When I read this ad on MilWeb I realised we didn't have a for sale in Italy thread yet.
So here we go with the first one: Quote:

Time, money and focus....
HI Jiff
As per above.....getting old...... need to channel limited $$..... to remain focus on cab 11/12 series for me at least.... With the recent adoption/addition of Kris to the Rotters family, I will defer to a younger member....so it could still windup around the Hammond barn. I have not given up yet....just being more targetted. Boob |
Understood.... just out of curiosity, where is it, how much is it and who belongs to it? PM me if you'd prefer...

hmm, i spent 1 year teaching in Montenegro former Yugoslavia, at the time purchased a Polski Fiat. Its in storage at a friends cottage.
I thought about putting it on a shipping container before but i dont have that much money to burn:-S totally unrelated but here are a few pics of the car im talking about http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...65871_8789.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/krische...7594580948639/ |
A container....???
Hi Kris
You do not need a container to ship a Fiat......Just get a large envelope. Boob |
hehe...zing! its true that car is micro.
hard to believe it drives over 100mph and doesn't fall apart! |
Get it on one of our Saskatchewan roads at 100 mph and see how fast it shakes apart!

I don't know much about Fiats but everybody around here drives pickups since they're all that'll stand up to normal driving on our gravel roads.

I don't mean to hijack Hanno's thread but I must tell you about the Fiat Punto I rented in Italy for my son's wedding. It had so little power that I had to go into these switchback turns at almost full power. The little beast went around the corners okay but if you lost any speed you couldn't get to the next turn without shifting into low and crawling. We had to make the trip every day and my son in law who wisely rented a Mercedes van had to wait for me all the time. He had a full load with 6 people and I just couldn't keep up with only Janet and I. I don't think much of Fiats. :no4:

hehe...sorry for derailing this thread.... i would agree fiats are the toilets of europe

When I was young and foolish..at least more foolish than I am now..I was stationed in Sardinia in '69-'70.. From that journey I brought back many memories..a girl friend that was to become my wife the following year..who came equipped, among other things ,with a brand new Fiat Spider 850 Convertible.. When she bought it in Calgiari,Sardinia the sales man was so please with himself that when he turned over the keys to the car he proudly announced that they even put a liter of gas in it for her..A LITER...!! A whole liter of gas cost around $2.00 back in '70 if I can remember correctly.. I found the original receipt a few years ago and the car,she bought it through the military Can-ex was $1500.00 US.. A new Mercedes 200 series D was around $3500 US and a new Honda 750 motorcycle was around $950.. A 40 of Smirnoff vodka was $1.80 US..a Texas Micky(133 ounces) of Canadian Club ,complete with pump was $10.35 US..likewise a T.Mickey of Ron Bacardi rum.. The best German white wine... $0.74 a crock.. Used to buy it by the case.. Heineken.. 100 lira( .16 US) a can..right out of the old Iron Doctor(Beer machine).. But The Fiat came home with me..along with the missus..and a bad case of the shakes which I finally beat around 25 years ago.. I'll save the Fiat stories til we meet again.. Have a great Christmas and I hope to see you and Lobster Breath at Gracies in the new year. Have a great Christmas.. Alex |
Thanks for the greetings Alex. I know what you mean about those old prices. I bought a 72 Chev pickup brand new, for $2600.00 cash on the dash and still have it. I was at a Christmas open house at the residence of "old lobster breath" that he puts on every year for his friends, but I went anyway. I hung around the shrimp and the Swedish meatballs until Janet rolled me out the door. Brian still found time to sneak away and dig up an interesting CMP photo he got yesterday. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Blair family and all the rest on MLU.

C60 on Milweb
I went to see this C60 about a year ago, and walked away as soon as it was polite. It's not too bad, but everything's quite badly pitted, and just got a load of desert sand slapped on it. In my book it needs a full rebuild (and it's a chevrolet - yuk :)). Admittedly it could well be ready in a week, it just depends how many people you get working on it at the same time :D Can't remember how much he was asking, but it was obviously too much. A friend of his had a Dodge D15 water bowser at the same location, quite rough but still with the RAF roundel on the bonnet - very nice, but alas not for sale. |

Hi to everybody,
by chance I read this post a couple of years after it was published. I was and I am still the owner of this C60L, at all the effects Stefano and his friends were the only people who called me and came to take a look to this truck. The requested price was 5.000€, may be too much for them but still a fraction of what I spent doing everything by myself. Here are some more pictures, this C60L is not for sale anymore. Gustavo |
