Its Mine
That is My carrier a few years ago with Harry Moon and son and Myself driving
Jeff |
Which one?????
Hey Jeff that's great. Thanks for the video.....but which one is you???
There are about four unidentified carriers here. Are you the first crew with the Brenny? http://www.mapleleafup.org/forums/at...=&postid=80887 Pedr |
I am the one driving with the huge grin. The same day I ran over 10 trees with the carrier .Harry is on the bren
Jeff |
One of my all time favourites!!!
Now that I've found this it's a toss up between Jeff Davis' carrier and bren, and this clever edit.
It's one of my little secrets, made when movies really were good and entertaining. A war movie, made during the war that was about the war, but still managed to be funny and light-hearted. Arthur Askey's "King Arthur was a Gentleman", guess I'll have great difficulty trying to secure it on DVD now as I'm sure you'll all be out to get your copies. It also has another love of mine - Monty Python. But I can't stand Sylvester Stalone or Rocky, can only think of one movie I dislike more and that's Rumpbone...oops Rambo. The guy's a no talent drug addict. Anyway, hope you enjoy this little one, but I know you'll love it ( at least 'til "Hambone" oops, did it again ). Pedr Arthur Askey's "King Arthur was a Gentleman" to Monty Python's "Camelot" http://img.youtube.com/vi/iQeO1hNjLlQ/default.jpg |

Here are a few that I posted up some time ago. However I have uploaded to Youtube in better quality.

This Carrier belongs to a friend of mine from Windsor. http://youtube.com/watch?v=I26rFQf3AZM |
Some more for us to watch
Thanks to Jordan for the last few. Loved them!! ( Esp. Wasp at work )
First, ones for Ron. Underwater carrier as requested. This is footage of the wreck of the Thistlegorm off the coast of Egypt. Thistlegorm 2006 http://img.youtube.com/vi/RcWwNQyYwaw/default.jpg and thanks to Tony...link to Thistlegorm thread More reference to all this here Gotta love YouTube Pedr |
Unknown owner apparently in US...Fairfax, Virginia
Found these ones too.
Don't know whose carrier though. If it's you...or your's, please let us all know. Nice Kettenkrad aswell. Backyard Wargames - Off to war http://img.youtube.com/vi/gUlSR-_fg1s/default.jpg And it's partner... Backyard Wargames - The triumphant return http://img.youtube.com/vi/AF2Ia1SVvUM/default.jpg Great way to liven up the family Barbeque. Pedr |
Real footage
And finally on a more sombre note.
Found this marvellous footage. It's Black and White, which usually I like as it helps to age some things, but in this case I wish it was colour just to help show how bad things are in situations like this. WARNING - The following footage is graphic and should only be watched in the supervision of adults. It contains vision of war and deceased persons. Not suitable for children or those who may be offended. British and Commonwealth Forces - South East Asia, WW2 http://img.youtube.com/vi/GwlIFaMevsM/default.jpg In reverence of all those whom served and those whom paid the ultimate price, so that I may live as I choose in the freedom that I enjoy. :remember Pedr |
Brad's Wayne McGee video on YouTube
Here is Brad's video of Wayne McGee driving his carrier from YouTube. ( Notice Brad's snickers in the background...not nice :p )
NS Highlanders driving a carrier http://img.youtube.com/vi/GIV-8VuOl1k/default.jpg Pedr. Notice to the HMVF people, your site isn't quite the same as YouTube YET. Plus all of your videos are not able to be downloaded for future reference, so for the time being, I'm sticking with YouTube. |

The Netherlands
In the Netherlands there are some fine carriers too, this is one of them.

http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=rpUass...eature=related
This looks to be the same carrier in the video above. I really liked the parade. However I do think the person driving was being rather dangerous by showing off. At the 1:30 portion of the film you will see what I mean. From the camera angle he looked rather close to a number of people. |
