Convoy to Remember 2010
|
... I'll certainly be there on Sat and Sun, as it's right at my doorstep. Hopefully with the only Aussie truck in Switzerland.
Here are my pics from the last few years. I guess "vehicles from 18 countries" is a little bit overstated (the organizers are always very optimistic). Most MV's there are US and Swiss origin. Highlight of the last few years has always been the play around with tanks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZn90SxeKgI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tIrLkaeiG8 A well know MLU-member will possibly join me. Greetings Chris |
Looks as if I could manage as well to go there this time. Seems that I could be in Switzerland... and then it's only about half an hour from the place I am living.

... you'll find in this Swiss Weasel Forum some more pics and Videos:
http://weasel-club.ch/thread.php?threadid=771 The Stuart you see on the 2nd pic is one of the 16 Brazilian Stuarts. She's now lovely restored. She's one of the earlier Stuarts. Originally fitted out with a diesel engine (the owner still got that one), but now fitted witha radial engine. Fully equipped with MGs and the gun in the turret. By the way, the owner is looking for some canvas covers for them. Any ideas where to get them? This Video is a good one with a lot of tanks :note: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEM8cBsaot0 Quote:

I like the bearded Swiss veteran with his horse and the SG57 (?) rifle in the scabard. How many jumpers got out of the DC3, or was that just a bundle drop?
|
Sturmgewehr 57 is correct. And all in all 16 parachutists were dropped in several approaches of the plane.

I Enjoyed all these photos. A wonderful collection of vehicles. The U.S built some great vehicles in WWII. (what happened?) I love those 3/4 ton Dodges.
