In a suburban front yard
Lay this forlorn Chevrolet C60L. Today Euan went and breathed life into this new purchase (well a lot of stuffing around including draining the old fuel, filling the radiator adding oil and dealing with a sticky needle and seat) as well as pumping up the tyres and she was good to go... almost. Once it had been driven out into the street it transpired the good brake pedal was an illusion so it will have to be floated instead.
It's part of a deceased estate and originally came from the Riverina district so it is in a sense a displaced border raid. This vehicle almost made it to Corowa back in 2002 but when Euan went to check it he found all the pushrods had been bent. After straightening them he discovered it was hotwired to 12 volts so the trip was something of a pipedream at the time. http://gallery.me.com/oldcmp.net/100...W_0043/web.jpg http://gallery.me.com/oldcmp.net/100...W_0051/web.jpg http://gallery.me.com/oldcmp.net/100...W_0050/web.jpg Getting it out was back and fill X20 with a caution from the home owner to please not hit the brick gates as the previous tenant had done so with her Hyundai and they had just been repaired. http://gallery.me.com/oldcmp.net/100...G_1112/web.jpg The engine was purring nicely. Chevs which have been sitting for years always seem happy to wake up. http://gallery.me.com/oldcmp.net/100...G_1117/web.jpg http://gallery.me.com/oldcmp.net/100...G_1118/web.jpg |
