Mk1* carrier rear number plate and lamp.

Folks,

I am on the scrounge for some measurements of the rear number plate ?

Also does anyone know of a source for the rear lamp ?

Cheers

Richie

You can get the rear rubber lamps from Dirk Leegwater. CMP rubber rear lights.

Can't help with the plate, mine are a different shape.

RichardT10829 10-04-16 23:56

Rodger.... Will happily cut you a couple out matey, just need the dimensions :D

Lynn Eades 11-04-16 08:15

Richard, I suspect Ben's is dimensionally the same (width, height etc.) the difference being the U.C. has a single light.
I was waiting for someone with an original to chime in........

RichardT10829 11-04-16 08:54

I will jump in the car and go for a drive.

kevin powles 11-04-16 11:40

Rich, I've got a complete original here I will measure and photograph on Wednesday, you got the two bracket dimensions ?.

RichardT10829 11-04-16 12:10

No Kev, I have absolutely nothing, that would help a lot if you had the dims for the bracket too.

Cheers

Richie

Lynn Eades 11-04-16 12:26

Richard, I doubt you'll get one at Tescos.

RichardT10829 13-04-16 10:37

Strangely enough local Tesco's don't have a carrier related aisle !

If you can get those measurements Kev it would be a help.

Cheers

Richie

Let me know if 343 x 277 is close for overall width, height.

RichardT10829 13-04-16 16:06

We will hopefully find out soon enough :D

The holes are 5/16" the inside radius of the lamp holder if not far away from a standard mastic tube at 49mm, the raised lamp holder is 2 1/16" wide, takes the standard CMP lamp holder.

Rick, you must learn to be patient in this hobby, I know that more than most

RichardT10829 15-04-16 13:30

Cheers Kevin.

Excellent repro by John Bizal too !

Michael R. 15-04-16 18:24

Thanks Kevin.
For taking the time and effort to do the work you did for the number plate base. :thup2:

Lynn Eades 15-04-16 22:04

Yes, I agree. Good effort Kevin! :salute:

The way I established the shape around the light was to find centre. Draw the hole and the O.D.,drawing it with a compass.(top 180 degrees)
With the compass still set the same, on a line through the horizontal centre, blend the missing bits (quadrants)each side...... Underkistumble?

Kevin your measurements confirm that the earlier plate with two lights fitted was otherwise the same size,

RichardT10829 15-04-16 22:16

Kev whilst I am cutting mine out, would you like me to cut you one out too ?
