Bag, Waterproof, clothing

This landed in my lap recently.

A quick search reveals that it is of US military usage, my question, has it been used up here in Canada?

Interesting string closure affair and loops for the string to go through.

Bag stands knee high and has a round base and a crinkly waterproof material inside, starting to degrade now and likely reason for disposal, useful green bag none the less.

Never saw such a thing here. We had fishnet laundry bags, usually in white or green. But generally, we would put a garbage bag around stuff that we wanted to keep dry, and then put it into the ruck.

Not that I did a lot of that kind of stuff mind you. I had a M113A2 to keep my stuff dry, and later the back of an MLVW with security cage.

You also have to remember that we didn't even get raingear that was waterproof until the 90s. We did have a similar bag to the one shown for the sleeping bag, but the rubber/nylon lining would also degrade and would often adopt a "pukey" small.

your answer Rob mimics my suspicions.

Thank you
