I think the roof may be original Blitz!

And the above bitza Blitz sold for $1010.

Richard Coutts-Smith 27-07-09 13:51

Hi Ryan,
I read that as one chain only.

Local scrappy had that many sets of 12.00-20 chains up here a couple of years back that he was using them to make his weights up, bought a set (4) $40.00, each in its own steel box. I gueuss you could always cut these back to suit 10.50-20 if someone is mad enough to want a set.

The first reference I found (on a cursory search) to the 261 is for installation in the 6000 series in 1956. I suppose it could mave been used outside the US before inside but ....

You are probably on the money ,as usual..

Same colour and identical to one shown here..
Wish I still had it..

WOW is right if they get that price Keith will think I ripped him off. I've noticed all of these instruction books listed on ebay are third edition did any other aditions come out here.

Richard Coutts-Smith 11-09-09 03:41

Ryans 1st link,
nice front fairleads! Rarely see them left on the truck. Can't work out if the front wheels have the spacers to match the rear duels. Wonder if the door and doghouse are out back of the shed?
Vendor also has a nice Series 3 FFR Landie, and a 46 Hilman Minx if you are into that sort of thing.

Looks like a perfect candidate for restoration! But I think it´s a C15 15-cwt, not a C8.

chev blitz truck 1942
Hi Firetruck Enthusiasts, This 1942 Chevrolet Blitz Firetruck up for auction has been very generously donated to our local volunteer brigade by the estate of a past member. It was in going order, but it hasn't been started in 2 years. It has a steel tank on the back and B&S Firefighter Pump. Would definitely been suitable for restoration. Can assist with loading onto transport. Any queries, please Phil on 0427464319, and I will attempt to answer your questions as best as I can. Thanks for looking and Good Luck!!

It's not a Holden-built C15A either which makes it pretty unusual in this country.
