Sheraton lathe

I just bought an old Sheraton Lathe from a local here ( Model A with imperial thread cutting ) it's about early 1950's era I think. It's a loose copy of the famous U.S. South Bend 9" hobby lathe from the 1930's.

The factory was in Heidelberg , a suburb of Melbourne and apparently they supplied thousands of lathes to the education dept. Hercus was another Australian south bend clone made in large numbers in South Australia and many parts are change over with Sharaton and South BEnd .

Has anyone here used them ?

Hi Mike ,
Sorry to say i have never used a Sheraton but if you go to the Australian Woodworkers Forum they have a section for Hercus owners which also seems to have a lot of Sheraton owners .
