I am Mississauga - Mississauga Remembers

I live in the city of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and there is a non-profit organization called Heritage Mississauga that promotes local heritage/history. Last fall, they produced/launched a video titled "I am Mississauga - Mississauga Remembers". A great video...well done. The following link should take you to that video.

Having participated with my military vehicle in the last two Port Credit Remembrance Day ceremony processions and the recent WW1 Souterrain Exhibition, I am proud to say that Mississauga does Remember and I am honoured to be part of this community.

Cheers, Terry.

Interesting Video

Hi Terry

Enjoyed the video, only problem now I'll have reread a Canadian History text to really put everything pre-WWI in context.

But then again isn't that the purpose of Historical Foundations and Society's to remind us of the history we don't remember, never knew, or in the case of Americans were never taught.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers Phil

Now that I've composed myself, I can reply. Very moving.

Kudos to the Trillium Foundation for the funding.

Very good turnout for Remembrance Day!

I believe that there's a few other videos of Port Credit's Legion 11 Nov parades floating around.

IIRC, I think I've been in that Legion. The Air Cadets had their Supply downstairs, and the club room upstairs had various inscriptions on the ceiling written with smoky script.

Toronto Signals Band was adopted by that branch.Correct?

Glad to see the video is being enjoyed. Jon...yes, the club room upstairs has various inscriptions on the ceiling written with smoky script but not sure about the Toronto Signals Band being adopted by the Port Credit Legion. During the last two Port Credit Remembrance Day processions, it was the St. Andrew's Pipe & Drums of Mississauga that participated.
Cheers, Terry.

Well I enjoyed that video. Thank you for sharing it with us on MLU. You only have to go to France and Belgium and see the cemeteries for all of the Allies, to realize just how many of your and my countrymen did not return, and those who did, suffered in silence for ever on.

Regards Rick.
