AOP Carrier/Bren Gun Carrier Aerial mounting?
 

Hi all,

I have what appears to be an AOP Carrier/Bren Gun Carrier Aerial mount of some sort.

This was on my Australian LP2A MG carrier when I got it and it is not correct for the year of my carrier (1941).

I am assuming this is a reproduction of some sort, and probably a combination of original parts and reproduction parts.

It is similar in design to the ‘AOP Aerial Mounting for the No 11,18 and 19 wireless sets as listed on Page 65 of Nigel Watson’s ‘Universal Carriers, Volume 1’.

It appears to have been well made and as you can see by the photographs it works well. I’ve included a picture of how it was mounted on my carrier.

The only markings on it are ‘TL12502’ on the arm as shown in the photographs.

This might be of use to someone with an English carrier or similar.

Not sure of what it would be worth to anyone. Perhaps PM me if there is any interest please?
