Odd that the shovel isn't mentioned

Shovel
I thought that was odd also that there wasn’t any mention of the shovel. It’s in the picture with the lot number so it does look like it’s included. Perhaps the shovel doesn’t have any markings to indicate it’s age or origin.

not included....
Auctioner says the verbal description takes precedence on the pictures and the shovel is not described and they could not tell me if it was available as a separate item...... sort of mickey mouse!!!! the person who answered said she did not have access to the item in the warehouse......

Have had that happen where everything pictured was not included. Buyer beware.

....but they called to survey my client satisfaction level....
....... right between the horns with a shovel......... told them I was not please with the curt reply nor the unprofessional practice of including extra item in the photo which are not included.....or explained unless you ask!!!
For the record, if the shovel is a american "Ames" manufactured shovel from the Vietnam era, it is worth more than the canteen......with the original cover and stamped trade mark in good condition around $100 on EBay when you ever see one. What makes this one rare is that it has the folding shovel and folding pike on the opposite side and the handle has not been cut shorter by an infantry men. |
Seems to me I have a couple of those shovels out in the shed dated from the early 50s and with a nice C/l\ on them, which of course by that time was declared obsolete.
Price is good for the canteen. |
Sold for $21.
Sold. High bid $21.

Anyone here get it. Wonder if the shovel was included.
