Bren spare barrel wallet and cleaning kit wallet

I am new to things Bren related.

I think these two wallets are WW2 issue.

Did they remain in service past the end of the war or was there a post war green version?

I am not hung up on having WW2 kit so if anyone has a post war equivalent I would be prepared to swap around.

I am going to Acton in the morning and will these along just in case

I have seen them in Green, but of foreign manufacture. I suspect the Canadian army knew the Bren was being replaced so did not go into a wide scale replacement program to the green. I bought about 50 of the wallets full with their stores a couple years back, and they were all tan with the exception of a couple painted black for the Rifles.

As to your being new to Brens, everybody has to start sometime. The Brens are a gorgeous gun with a well documented history. A guy could make a collection of just Brens and their accessories (loaders, sights various marks and calibers) and take many years just doing that.
