Yes ... I know that Christmas ...

... has been mentioned in a few threads already ... but hey, I'm the Ma Yappy :yappy: and I take liberties in being yappy about the whole subject.

I've been in MLU a while now ... and Lord knows I've many posts to prove it ... you can probably double the number of posts in my "current" profile when adding it to my original one ... so yes, I've been yappy ... in the past ... and not so yappy lately.

Christmas ... I sit here, late at night, Sunray sleeps and snores for the morrow's work day and I ... sit here. Awake. Thinking about many things, including Christmas and all of you in here in your little corners of the world ... doing Christmas ... whatever that means and is, to you and yours.

I really haven't been very "yappy" lately ... much has slowed my pace and typical Ma :yappy: mode ... but hopefully, this too shall pass :D ... or maybe some enjoy the quiet? Like Old Hairy Beast? :D Geez ... may I even enjoy the surcease?

Funny .. Christmases past sort of ebb through my mind ... kinda like a lifes' review, and I see, in my minds' eye, many, many, Happy Christmases ... forget the commercialism, I'm talking Christmas in the heart ... especially the heart of the family gatherings ... so very nice ... think of the aromas of Christmas ... scents ... ah yes ... smells like Christmas!!! Feels like Christmas ... do's like Christmas ,,, sounds like Christmas ...

I can't afford to give store-boughten gifts, and have not the energy and handy-ness to create home-made gifts anymore ... but i wish to give something to MLU-ers for Christmas ... and that would be ... a little piece of my heart and love ... for after all this time, like it or lump it (as my dearly departed Mom would say) ... we are family ... :D

There are so many of you ... I would like to address personally by name ... but there are TOO many of you for me to be able to handle the typing to do so ... so I shall simply say to all of you folks ... HEY ... I LOVE YOU's GUYS and GALS and you'll always be special to me ... and I wish I could give each and every one of you "A LITTLE PIECE OF MY HEART" in good will and with great affection for this Christmas, and for the New Year ... and all through.

And ... I would wish for you all to accept that little piece of my heart in the spirit it's given ... spontaneously and freely ... in goodwill to all ...

Merry You-Know-What ... ah, piss on it ...
MERRY CHRISTMAS DAMMIT ... from MA YAPPY :yappy:

Christmas morning

'Tis Christmas morning (just after 5AM). Outside it's still dark, a gentle cool breeze just blowing. The sky is clear, and the first kookaburras are awakening to begin the dawn chorus, bidding the stars goodbye.
Further up the garden, across the gravel driveway a dark shape looms... it's the gun tractor. Those birds had better not crap on it.

Merry Christmas, goodwill and peace to all.

Vets Dottir 24-12-05 20:02

Christmas Eve here ...

... and Christmas Day "over there" ... you's guys are always FIRST! :p :D

Thinking of you Aussies doing your Christmas thing, even if that's just grouching "Oh Bah Humbug" ... :D

I want to thank all of you for your Christmas (and other ;) ) wishes for me in this thread ...

Christmas music playing on the radio as I putter with house things ... I'm enjoying the older shmaltzy sounds and moods, and even raise my voice a little in song/singalong (can you hear me?) :yappy: :yappy: :yappy: :yappy: :yappy:

http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/direc...desc=christmas

The above links aren't what I'm listening tho though ... currently have a local radio station going ... works for me ...

"Run Run Rudolph" playing right now .... a little bluesy-rocky-Rudolph ... yeah baby, rattle those racks in rythym .... oh yeah, baby, run run Rudolph, Santa's gonna make it to town ....

Here we be in Queensland at 5:30am real time (no daylight saving like the folk down south) it is already 28C and bright and clear. The birds are singing the morning in and all I can think about is Christmas lunch at the local pub today. LOL

Peace to all

Good Morning

It's 08.55 here in Yass with a cool breeze and only 17 degrees. It's going to be another fine day, Christmas day. Max just kicked me out of my bed ;) to enjoy Kathy's delicous Swiss Muesli breakfast.

Merry Christmas from Aussie!
Chris

HUH?

Apart from the frantic celebration of an obscure minor Jewish prophet, aka Jesus, wotinhell is "Swiss Muesli Breakfast"?

Any relation to Vegemite?

Any other Wiccans and Pagans celebrating  :D

The're all moody and depressed 'cos of the dismal weather they have to endure in Canada. You have to realise, Bob, that it's only in Australia that we spend a hot Christmas Day at the beach with a cold beer, Insh'Allah!
Merry Christmas to all.

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 25-12-05 05:34

Well, you in Oz are well through the day. It's almost there for us here in EST, and of course, our Yurrupeen freinds are just waking up to this magical day right now.

My best to all of you, and thank you for making this community what it is - it's truly priceless, and that's perhaps what it should be on this Christmas Day, 2005. My thoughts are with the soldiers, past and present, who have and are being forced to endure this most solemn day alone and far away from their loved ones. Them we owe a debt which can never be repaid.

To all of you dear friends here -- :salute: and

Ah, you know me well without meeting me ... the little bit of Cree in me can scalp you with a swung frying pan at a hundred paces .... ieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yup :D I don't need hairy scalps, just scalps will do ... first cut would be the eyebrows in that case  :P

uh and er ... actually, I hate to draw blood :( so keep your scalps, all of you. Leaving bumps and the odd bruise or two works for me though. :D

Merry Christmas to you and yours Wayne ... I'm glad you've enjoyed perks from my posts. Fun and laughter are great things to share in :) And thank you for the open invite ... perhaps one day. And where the heck IS St. Catherines anyways?

Twas ...

'Twas the night before Christmas ... ooops ... WRONG ... it IS Christmas now ... 01:17 December 25th .... 2005

I just heard such a clatter and a thump thump thunp on the sunroof and went racing out to catch Santa in the act ... alas ... not Santa ... but racoons come to collect their Christmas gifts ... I gave them some of Sunray's leftover chinese food and bowl of potato chips    :smoker: ...

Muesli?
Beaches?
For Christmas? I DON'T THINK SO DUDES!

I'll take that turkey with stuffing, thank you very much. It really DOES look like a turkey. Nothing :sheep: -ish looking about it at all! (looks great !!! Yum)

Max Hedges 25-12-05 08:24

.... mhhhhh, Karmen, that Turkey was very delicious. If you could have tasted it. There's plenty of leftover, says Max. A pitty that you're not closer to Aussie.

Merry Xmas

Bah, Humbug

Come on 2 Jan 06...let's get over this maudlin stuff, after which the world arms their weapons, sights in, and blasts the Hell out of everyone.

Let's not be hypocrites about this time of year.

It's only a brief respite...for what is really going on...man against man, nation against nation, all defying that which is purported to be in the name of a saintly person, whose personage is embodied in the name of God.

If there really is a God, who is supposed to be so powerful and encompassing, why is there such misery around the world?...Rwanda, Indonesia, Africa, Sri Lanka, Amritsar, Tibet, tsunamis, HIV, ebola, Marburg, Katrina, al Qaeda's terrorists, Muslim extremists...must I go on?

Keep your powder dry, and adopt the 1000 yard stare.

Merry ****ing Christmas.

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 26-12-05 04:39

Pagan bastard, Streebeck... :D :p

Jon Skagfeld 26-12-05 05:21

Huh?

What's a Streebeck?

Something like a Cardinal Fang?

I'm so retro.

Elucidate, Sunray!

Alex Blair (RIP) 26-12-05 14:45

A Streeback....???

Jeez Jon...
I think Jif is calling you a good guy...I'd suck it up ...
A Christmas present ...JOE Fridays partner..???

Maybe he means you are the leader of the P.A.G.A.N.s. ...
That may suit you better...

Check this out...

Los Angeles may be the City of Angels, but it's also a city of crime. A group of renegades calling themselves P.A.G.A.N.s has been wrecking havoc all over the city. Their crimes included setting fire to an entire month's run of the men's magazine "Bait" published by a lisping Dabney Coleman ("9 to 5") in a Hefner-esque role. The P.A.G.A.N.s must be stopped, and Joe is the man to do it.

His new partner in Robbery/Homicide? The brash young detective Pep Streebeck (Tom Hanks). Now I've been having trouble finding out what exactly Hanks has been working on since this film, but I've heard that the former star of television's "Bosom Buddies" has enjoyed some measure of success. Right, he has only picked up five Academy Award nominations and two wins ("Philadelphia" "Forrest Gump"). But that was now and this is then if you'll allow me to mix up a common axiom. He hadn't yet earned his Hollywood respect and therefore Hanks allowed himself to make a zany comedy from time to time. With Friday, Detective Streebeck makes a fine little crime fighting odd couple. But can they stop the P.A.G.A.N.s?
