No connection to seller, both in poor but workable shape.

two low sillouette models, one with green floor mat.

The first carrier with the "roof" looks awfully familiar. I would swear this is ex John Adamiak, Acton ON. If it is one and the same all I can say is either wishful thinking or a super investment. As I recall, if this is the one, it went for around a grand around 10 years ago at auction.

Well then. With those sexy features selling at the asking prices should be no problem. And hey, the green floor mats are 100% organic!!

I try to repatriate it to Holland :giveup

Top bids were 10.5K and 10.6k in US dollars. They failed to meet the reserve.

Not sure what is crazier......buyers who bid that high for very incomplete and forlorn vehicles, or sellers who think it is worth thousands more.

This makes me want to sell mine on eBay now.

Didier Huybrechts 03-07-17 08:07

Hi ryan,
I'm looking for one
If you have one to sell it interested me

Amazing what guys are willing to pay for scrap. I am definitely keeping an ear to the ground, finding old hulls sounds like finding gold nuggets. Don't think there's a better investment anywhere, buy low sell high lol.

This makes for an interesting discussion. $15K for a hull and easily another $20K to restore it (assuming you pay nothing for your own time and labour)...does a carrier that is newly fabricated from the tracks up fetch $35K?

chris vickery 03-07-17 18:13

I agree Bruce. A mock up carrier is just that...
I would hazard a guess to say that $20K wouldn't even come close. Just the engine and transmission work is likely $5K alone. I haven't had any sandblasting done in a long time but even that has become very expensive, I would bet that blasting and painting would easily be another $5K.

Didier Huybrechts 03-07-17 19:31

don't forget the price for shipping to belgium = 5K

+ tax 6%
