Great find story Mike, but are you sure that you were on Vancouver Island, I didn't see any rain in your pictures? That C8 had probably been used as as a "Crummy" to transport the logging crews back and forth from town or their camp to the logging site, judging by the roof and hooks for hanging tools from on the outside. As a child I used to see a CMP wrecker at a service station on Highway 19, just north of Nanaimo. I'm sure there are more surplus vehicles to be found in the rain forest throughout B.C., you might remember my mentioning the half-track that my friend from North Vancouver found near William's Lake that had been used as a skidder. Once when hunting near Cariboo Lake out past Likely I saw a gold mine operation that had three M37CDNs in it's fleet. They're out there and it's great to see them found. Derek.
