Neat, I want a truck load

Hi Matt

Just what all 3 Ton Cargo trucks need about 20 of them great for parade load.

Punched up the map and Google said it would only be a 16,073 mile trip one-way to go pick them up.

Cheers Phil

matilda IIA 04-05-13 13:23

G'day Phil

You could buy them and have them shipped to my place and they would be 300Km closer for when you need them !

Kind Regards
Matt

There's a really nice cab 12 C60L on Gumtree located in Myrniong in Victoria which is timber country (usually means the vehicles have been worked to death) but this one looks to have a straight cab. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/myrni...99107?mpch=ads
A bit pricey at $4,500 though.

Bren gun

This seems to be cheap for a bren gun carrier, might have to ask Colin Jones. Anyone else have any idea about the condition of her?

Nathan Clark 13-07-13 10:30

Can somebody shed some light on the gun sticking out the front.....certainly doesn't look like a Vickers with a barrel like that . I'm fairly certain those front fenders are off a LP2a, with the light guards squashed down to take a square light.....please someone correct me if I'm wrong. The front idler wheels look like they came from a LP2 as well.

Ryan 13-07-13 12:01

Could be the barrel of an auto grenade launcher :yappy:. lol.

So am I right saying its an english carrier with Lp bits on it.
Looks like it may be missing the rear wall too.

colin jones 15-07-13 12:14

I too thought it was cheap looking at the photo, but after seeing the rest of the pics, it's not so cheap and it's in the middle of nowhere. I love the blocks of wood for the engine mounts. Perhaps a good one for Lynn to take back to NZ as hand luggage :) :)
Colin.

Lynn Eades 15-07-13 14:05

Colin I enquired about it, hence the extra photos. If I was in a position to do something about it, I would.
British carriers seem to be most common in Aussie. Not too many here either. Quite rare around the globe by comparison to Canadian carriers.
How many people in the U.K can put their hands up and say "I own one".
Not very many.
The left side upper plate is a lower hull side plate from another carrier.

Why just buy the side panels when you can have the whole bridge?

Well, (Ahem...)
At first appearance the covers seem to be the bolt-together cab11 fare, (similar to what is in my early #12)
Closer inspection, not really...
Check out the covers on my truck Vs the Gumtree truck remains

See how there isn't a recess at the top of the covers? This is where the instrument cluster mounts on a cab 11 or 12.
SO; This truck must have been a (Drum-roll please)
Over to you, Keefy!
