Ford F-60S or L Field Service CMP

Merry Christmas guys,

I took the long way home from hockey on Saturday morning and photographed this "sighting". The vehicle plates are missing but the rest of the vehicle looks to be in good condition. I didn't have my tape measure with me but it looks like a F-60S or F-60L? The service box on the back looked to be an original. Does anyone out there want to take a crack at identifying this one?

Thanks, Richard

Looks like the Derrick truck, cannot remember the offical name, and it has the jib poles. A friend in UK restored an early version on a Chev. Used by Engineers.

Richard,

Like Richard said, it's the Engineers Lorry With Body Type Winch, better known as Derrick, based on the F60S chassis. Search this forum for more info.

Thanks for the ID

Guys,

Thanks for helping out with the identification. I will research previous threads and the internet for more information. Are there many of these units out there?

Richard

Stop it already.....

Very very few will be found with the box and the gin poles....... she is a keeper.

....... so when are you going to bring that one home...? if your wife doesn't run you out of town first.....

If you are ever going back I would really appreciate some close up pictures of the head piece where the 3 legs meet and the make up of the pulley arrangement........

When are you going to open your own CMP museum...???

Bob

Save it! Looks like a really nice and complete example.

I think I have only seen the one Richard mentioned and a Swiss example at D-day 2009.

Engineers Lorry F-60S

Guys,

Thanks again for helping me with the identification of this F-60S. It is safe where it is for the winter and I will be able to determine it's ownership status in the spring. If we don't get a lot of snow this week, I should be able to take a few more pictures of the inside of the cab, box, hydraulic winch and jib poles on Saturday. I will post those pictures here on MLU.

As far as the CMP museum goes..........I think this icon sums it up. :fry:
Regards, Richard
