MVPA membership drive

I have been a Military Vehicle Preservation Association member since I started restoring military vehicles 15 years ago.
Recently, the MVPA has issued a challenge for fellow mver's and hobbyists alike to bolster the ranks of the Association.

The Mission of the Association is:
" To provide an international organization for military vehicle enthusiasts, historians, preservationists, and collectors interested in the aquistion, restoration, preservation, safe operation, public educationand display of historic military transport".

In 2002, the membership was at a high of 10,360; this number steadily declining
to around 8,000 currently.
And yes, I know, this is a US based organization, but as a whole, respresents the MV community worldwide. Many of my fellow hobbyists here in Canada rely on US based suppliers for parts, information and even project vehicles. Canadian government legislation usually follows suit from other like minded countires, hence, what happens there can happen here. The MVPA is a very large supporter and proponent of individual rights to private vehicle ownership.

There is a bi-monthly magazine, Supply Line and Army Motors that come with membership as well as all the rights and priviledges associated. MVPA also hosts a huge Convention on a yearly basis to which current members get free admission.

I would like to challenge all my fellow MVers to become a member of this great organization. Please use me as a reference, quoting my membership number.

The magazines are definitely worth the $50 annual membership.

Hans, agreed.
The Army Motors is a great souce of information as well as reporting on local and International MV events. There are quite a few Canadian vehicles highlighted from time to time as well as these have caught on with American collectors as well as the fact that Reg Hodgson from Alberta is involved with the MVPA as well.
Suppy Line, the magazine dedicated to parts and for sale ads is a good source of info as well and is included.
