Welcome aboard, John.
Your Chev looks to be a fairly good starting point for a restoration.
It's particularly good to see all of the data plates still intact.
The handbook, parts list and repair manuals can usually be found on eBay. There's also someone on here that sells reprints/CD copies but I'm sorry I can't remember who?!
I can't give you much advice on the missing tipper body, as the Australian versions were locally built and therefore different.
There's lots of people here who can and will help you. Ask away!
Cheers
Howard.

I believe I am the person referred to who can offer reprint maintenance, parts operator's manuals. I also have the body manuals for the various Canadian dump/tipper bodies. I would need to do some checking to see what body applies to the "DUMP-4". I also have an unrestored "DUMP-2" that you are welcome to study. And, I'm not too far from you - in the Ottawa area.

data plate query

Hi John,

Congratulations on your new CMP Chev and welcome to the MLU Forum.

I am curious about the model number on the main data plate. What does the " T " mean at the end i.e. C-60S-T ? Also interesting to see is the overstrike on the build date.

Cheers,

Brian

I'm not sure about the "-T", possibly Tipper/Dump? I haven't really studied the transfer case and dump controls to be sure how they work (and to be sure if they are the same for all versions of the dump truck). The PTO is at least similar to the one used on the winch equipped trucks that got a -W suffix but without the actual winch. I'm not sure if there were other chassis differences to justify a separate identifying letter, or if there was a difference in the cab floor to allow for mounting the dump controls.

We had a thread some time back about the tippers. http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=11013

Thanks Rob,

that old thread answers my questions.
