A lot of questions

1) In my F15A there is a hole on the left side of the roof, also in the floor plate.
What is the function?

2) I am looking for copies of the following manuals:
Please send me a mail.

Is there a manual for the F15A too?

3) Is there anyone how can make the plates for the right door and the housing upper engine.

4) Is the material of the rear window always in steel or were there even some made of glass.

5) I am looking for a copy of the book:
CANADIAN MILITARY VEHICLE PROFILES; WILLIAM GREGG

Thanks Manfred

Questions

Hello Manfrerd

The plated hole in your roof looks suspiciously like a radio aerial mounting for a 19 or 22 set to me, perhaps some of the Sigs men here can comment, I have seen something similar on a CMP cab here in the UK.

As for the hole in the floor sorry no idea, the guys with 13 cabs can help you out with regard to the engine covers, I think Keith Orpin had to do some work like this on his 13 LAA, are you out there Agent 'O'?

Pete

Strange Holes.....

Eureka.....
The strange holes in Manfreds F 15A are ....
In the clutch inspection cover on the "Hump"(That is technical..!!)
The little round cover is where the sealed pipe goes through which attaches to the carb and attaches to the air cleaner which is mounted inside the cab...
The round holes in the floor are for the vent tubes from the axle ,transfer case, transmission housing and terminate inside the cab..
Along with assorted seals and grommets can be found in this manual on my web site..

A lot of questions part 2

1) In one of my F15A there is a little door in the housing upper engine. Inside is the fuel pump. Was this made in time post war?

2) Is there anybody who has a drawing for the F15A wiring harness whit dimensions and colour traces?

3) I am looking for a company (in Europe) which sells pvc cables with a replicated cotton and all the terminals for the connection.

Regards
Manfred

F15A Wiring

Hello Manfred

According to my copy of Special Pattern Vehicles (Third Edition) the fuel pump (Autopulse) was fitted for India only. Your small 3 switch plate should have the centre switch committed for this pump. (see image)

The following three posts will show you the wiring.

Bob

This wiring daigram is out of the Ford Maintenance Manual MB-F1 dated June 1943. I have'nt compared it with the F15A one but I'll bet its the same. Notice wire No. 46 - it's for the Autopulse.

And here are the colours - out of MB-F1. The only thing missing is the measurements but you should be able to work that out.

Manfred, my F15A built in January 1943 does not have this door. I can't remember seeing it before, so I suspect it is a do-it-yourself conversion (either during or after WW2).

Me too, so I looked up a number of threads on this subject - see Sources for wiring looms.

Hope this helps,
Hanno
