Hi Klaus
Welcome to The best CMP site ...you are in the right place..
Manuals are available if you contact me off line..Dirk Leegwater will have your parts in Holland and just "Ask" and some Big Norweigan guy by the name of "Ask" will probably help you put them on..There isn't too much Rolf dosen't know about CMP's..
Once again..Welcome..

brake parts

Welcome Klaus

Good to hear of another CMP being restored.

You will probably find the master cylinder and wheel cylinders can be resleeved in stainless steel to be made good as new again.

Please post some pictures of your truck here!

Keith

You can get wheel cylinders off a 40s Chev 1/2 ton that have a smaller bore and then just precision hone them out to CMP diameter. The master cylinder has a different mounting system to the civvy ones so you have to sleeve the military ones.

Master cylinders

Once in a while the correct style mounting shows up on ebay, usually listed for about a 1936 Chev. There is one ending soon, item 270207386950, but the seller says it had a 1 inch bore, not the 1.25 inch bore used by CMPs. Personally I would not want to bore the 1 inch version to 1.25 without doing a lot of checking to be sure there would be enough metal left for safety. The 1 inch bore are also available commercially from several suppiers for restorations, but I haven't seen any of them offer the needed combination of 1.25 inch bore and base mounting.

Hi Klaus,

Welcome to this forum!

See the Parts/Sources/Prices section on this forum for part numbers. Wheels cylinders can be bought new, they are the same on Chevrolets and Fords. The master brake cylinder for Chevrolets are difficult to find, if you have one it would be best to have it rebuilt.

Could you show us some pics of your truck, please?

Hope this helps,
Hanno

Klaus, this very issue has been addressed in a previous thread I started a while back. Search "wheel cylinders" and you'll find my thread about half way down the page on the left. I can get you all three types of cylinders (rear, front, and master)here in Texas at my local Napa store. Heck, you can probably order them yourself, but if you need a middle man I can buy them for you here and ship them on to you. Let me know if you need any assistance, Derek.

This link is for the rear cylinders - the NAPA number is UP4511 which they say is the same as the raybestos WC4511

This one is for the front - the NAPA number is UP4571 which they say is the same as the raybestos WC4571

I could not find a listing for the correct style master cylinder for the C15A. The cylinder for the C15A has mounting studs on the base and has a 1-1/4 inch bore. I do not know of anyone who sells correct style replacement cylinders. They sometimes are available on eBay, but it is several months since I saw one for sale. As other people have said, the best thing you can do is get your old master cylinder lined with either stainless steel or brass.

One problem you might encounter trying to order online is that when you create an account there is no provision for other than a U.S. address. You might try emailing or phoning to see if they will ship overseas. If not, my offer still stands. Derek.

Something a little closer for you Klaus, here's a link for a company in Stafforshire that sells rebuild kits for C15A master cylinders:
