Overlord Embroidery
 
The Overlord Embroidery is on public display at the D-Day Museum, Portsmouth, England, and is a fantastic piece of art. I was reminded of this by a postcard I received from my parents.

"August 1944
Completing the encirclement of the enemy, the First Canadian Army begins a southward offensive towards Falaise. Tanks are stripped of turrets and are used as improvised armoured personnel carriers."

I don't know how I missed this post by you ... awesome!!! I love embroidery and fabric art and it's especially wonderful and creative to express important history and messages. Thanks a lot for posting about it.
