Overlord Embroidery
The Overlord Embroidery is on public display at the D-Day Museum, Portsmouth, England, and is a fantastic piece of art. I was reminded of this by a postcard I received from my parents.
Shown below is panel 32 of 34: http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data...embroidery.jpg click for large size scan "August 1944 Completing the encirclement of the enemy, the First Canadian Army begins a southward offensive towards Falaise. Tanks are stripped of turrets and are used as improvised armoured personnel carriers." Read more about the embroidery at http://www.ddaymuseum.co.uk/overlord.htm |
